Trump skips G20 pandemic event to visit golf club as virus ravages US

Trumpā€™s apparent disinterest in the summit started earlier on Saturday when he started tweeting about the election results after the scheduled start time of the summit at 8am ET. The president appeared via video link during the summitā€™s opening remarks but by 10am, Trump was leaving the White House to go to his golf course outside of Washington DC, according to CNN.

The event featured remarks from leaders, including the French president, Emmanuel Macron, and the South Korean president, Moon Jae-in, and was focused on the ā€œcoordinated response to the coronavirus pandemic and improved global pandemic preparednessā€, according to its description.

Before he left the White House to go to the golf course, Trump implied to leaders that he will be working with them in the future, a reference to the losing fight he has put up against the results of the presidential election.

Its only right and proper that the great man should skip this meeting so that he could focus his efforts on saving democracy and playing golf.

It takes my breath away.

Has there ever been such a giant bestriding the world stage in the history of mankind - period ??
Maybe he wasn't invited. This topic is too important to include a child who doesn't take it seriously in the discussions.

Help is on the way, in late January, and the world knows it.
Yep opening our border is going to do us great!

Do if he would had sat in on that Zoom meeting, WuFlu cases would had gone down?

No one needs this fat non-billionaire conman for anything else - he's the epitome of a lame Duck (whale?), and a insignificant fat bitch. Hitting 9 irons post slithering into hiding after his landslide loss is great. It further proves how he doesn't give a shit for this country (or his supporters). The bravado in his POS "news conference" is gone, and what remains is a whimpering punk who is afraid and scared to show his face - oh the disgrace he must feel, knowing his legacy will forever be that of a one-term loser.

He plays his supporters for fools, his lawyers as fools, and doesn't give a damn about anyone else.

He has done Democracy a great favor. Proving that Democracy can withstand (and hold true) from a tyrant and wannabe dictator. Trying to throw legal votes out has failed, convincing electors to turn 'faithless' has failed. Attempting to delay certifications has failed. Showing proof of widespread election fraud has failed. The only thing he has convinced is to have his slaves (minions) continually believing in him.

There's good news for Trump, his lawyers, and his supporters - after January 20th, you will receive a lesson in how 'submitting evidence' and the courts actually work.

By the way, here is the speech President Trump gave to the G20, while the media claims he didnā€™t.

As great as it is that the U.S. seems to have at least one vaccine more or less ready to go, the world has other vaccines that may prove better, easier to manufacture, and certainly easier to store and distribute than the Pfizer drug.

The U.S. withdrawal from WHO in July, its subsequent refusal to participate in the COVAX program meant to make vaccines and treatments more available to poor nations, is another sign of U.S. withdrawal from international leadership.

The President understandably did not want to participate in a meeting where his failures of leadership and containment domestically, his pointless withdrawal from WHO and his ignoring the increasing work of COVAX would obviously stand out and be remarked upon.

There are in fact many logistical and coordination issues, as well as crucial procedures for sharing of information about vaccines and treatments that need to be worked out, and the U.S. not participating in WHO or COVAX handicaps the work of scientists everywhere.

And what happened to Europe that "followed the science"? They are now under harsher lockdowns and worse condition than the US. Only they completed decimated their economies in such a way that they may never fully recover. Meanwhile we do have some republican states who resisted the fascist unconstitutional takeover and seem to be doing far better than blue states.

Germans were chosen by the then New World Order people to be the villains in World War 1. They are arguably the smartest European nation on the continent. the German people have been deballed since then.

Trump has a vaccine on the way. A bunch of globalists complaining about getting totalitarian dreams cut short aren't important

The issue isnā€™t simply ā€œfollow the scienceā€ or ā€œfollow the orange-haired politicianā€!

Scientific questions about this new tricky pandemic were genuine from the start, and the politics and potential economic trade-offs difficult and different in every country.

The most successful states in stopping the COVID-19 virus were Asian states like Korea, Taiwan, Japan and .... mainland China. That is pretty clear and reflects their greater experience with epidemics, their greater openness to using masks and modern electronic tracking and tracing methods, etc. The social solidarity and ability of government to act decisively was of course also important factors.

By withdrawing from WHO and refusing to work with COVAX we make it harder for our government health authorities, our public and our scientists to coordinate with and learn from the experience of others.

Of course most Trump supporters are convinced we can never learn anything from other counties ... or even from each other.

The World Health Organization is a puppet of China and it does what China demands (China, the source
of the covid virus).
By staying in the WHO we legitimize this set up and we actually support funding it.
This sounds like it pleases you. Not so much most of the rest of the nation.

We have two effective vaccines on the verge of introduction all without the experience of the WHO.
Your post seems absurd and boot licking.

Good for him! He's one HECK of a president, the best our country has seen, since Abraham Lincoln, IMHO. :mm:
Its just fake flu with a marginal effect on the US. He showed great judgement here and even greater leadership.

Take care of Britain, your virus is spiking as well. Riot on!

The WHO does not do what any one country demands. It is a huge collective enterprise linking scientists and medical workers and researchers all over the world. The U.S. had infinitely more to lose by withdrawing completely from it than it had to gain by striking a childish pose. We ā€œcut off our nose to spite our face.ā€ We gained nothing, but we did make ourselves look stupid and loose face.

Trumpā€™s action weakened world health preparedness to face future epidemics. That is its worst effect. The U.S could have made its complaints far more effectively by staying within the world organization. Indeed, we have given up leverage in its councils, and that will have to be rebuilt slowly. Luckily, the medical/scientific communityā€™s years of international contacts, the great and crucial work done all over the world, will not be ended by Trumpā€™s disruption. The U.S. will rejoin WHO. But crucial connections established between U.S. and Chinese researchers and physicians, and between our governments, will be much harder to repair.

Whether through ignorance or duplicity you couldn't be more wrong about China's hold on the WHO.
We saw it when the Corona virus was first emerging. The WHO Ignores Taiwan. The World Pays the Price.

He hasn't attended a corornovirus task force meeting in over 5 months. He has zero fucks to give about the pandemic.

Is this news? Didn't we all already know this?

You are mixing up medicine and politics in a completely unacceptable way. Can you find one major physician or medical research organization that thinks Trumpā€™s withdrawal from the WHO was a good idea?

Hereā€™s what the main medical organizations of our country said. Are they all ā€œapologists for Chinaā€?

Statement on Official Withdrawal of U.S. from the World Health Organization

The following statement is attributable to: American Academy of Pediatrics President Sally Goza, MD, FAAP, American Academy of Family Physicians President Gary L. LeRoy, M.D., American Medical Association President Susan R. Bailey, M.D., and American College of Physicians President, Jacqueline W. Fincher, MD, FACP

ā€œThe Trump administration's official withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO) puts the health of our country at grave risk. As leading medical organizations, representing hundreds of thousands of physicians, we join in strong opposition to this decision, which is a major setback to science, public health, and global coordination efforts needed to defeat COVID-19.

"The WHO plays a leading role in protecting, supporting, and promoting public health in the United States and around the world. The agency has been on the frontlines of every global child health challenge over the last seven decades, successfully eradicating smallpox, vaccinating billions against measles, and cutting preventable child deaths by more than half since 1990. Withdrawing from the WHO puts these investments at risk and leaves the United States without a seat at the tableā€”at a time when our leadership is most desperately needed.

"As our nation and the rest of the world face a global health pandemic, a worldwide, coordinated response is more vital than ever. This dangerous withdrawal not only impacts the global response against COVID-19, but also undermines efforts to address other major public health threats.

ā€œThe American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Physicians and American Medical Association strongly oppose this short-sighted decision.

ā€œWe call on Congress to reject the Administrationā€™s withdrawal from the WHO and make every effort to preserve the United States' relationship with this valued global institution. Now is the time to invest in global health, rather than turn back."

What you did, citing "authorities" who will willingly take the globalist line, is a tiresome trick by now and it has zero persuasive power behind it.
It certainly does nothing to cancel out the proof I already gave that China has bought the WHO and uses it to
punish it's enemies, as demonstrated, like when Taiwan was blowing the whistle on China after they
wittingly, or unwittingly, released the covid virus on the globe and the WHO went to work on Taiwan.

You're quite a repugnant quisling and humorous too pretending four medical organizations, or their
public faces actually, represent the medical opinion of all health professionals in America.
But maybe you are used to Chinese bureaucracies were literally ALL opinion is vested in the CCP
itself.
