Flynn represented a unique threat to our national security. Not only was he talking with the russians, but he was doing so secretly. A fact that the russians knew, but the american people didn't. Which means Flynn was subject to blackmail by the Russians. And as national security advisor, he was privy to the nations highest secrets, while being subject to blackmail by our enemies.
That's a formula for disaster. Which is why the Flynn case was of such importance.
Fake news. American Hero Flynn was never charged with any of that.
Flynn did a plea bargain, in return for his cooperation he wouldn't be charged with more than a single count of 18 USC 1001.
Yes, bled of resources by Dirty Bob and the Witch Hunters, forced to sell his home and facing the same hell being visited on his son, our Hero Lt General Flynn pled as a first offender who
(a) should not have been investigated,
(b) had pleaded guilty to a dubious process crime, and
(c) was a decorated combat commander with a distinguished 30-year history of service to the United States, it should have been an easy sentence, involving no jail time.
But the sentencing did not happen, because Vile Hater Sullivan became unhinged. At an outrageous hearing, the judge loudly accused our Hero Flynn of a a CAPITAL CRIME, claiming Flynn had committed treason because the Vile Hater Sullivan has carelessly read the timeline and lept to the erroneous conclusion that as Defense Secretary, that our Hero Flynn was lobbying for our NATO ally, Turkey. Vile Hater Sullivan later much ore quietly apologized for that slander violating the rule among well-bred gentlemen of integrity that the apology should be voiced more loudly than the slander. He also implied that if Flynn did not provide additional cooperation to the Mueller prosecutors (with whom Flynn had been cooperating), a prison sentence could be in the offing.
With his retreat blocked by the vile hater Sullivan, our Hero Flynn's flagging fighting spirit was revived and he wholeheartedly threw himself into the legal fight to clear his good name.
Judges are supposed to be impartial arbiters whose main function in a criminal case is to protect the rights of defendants from government overreach and intimidation.
The pardon, nonetheless, expunges the case against Flynn. As a matter of law, it is as if the charges were never brought, as they should never have been.
As our Great President has declared: “General Flynn should not require a pardon. He is an innocent man.”
Flynn “is yet another reminder of something that has long been clear: After the 2016 election, individuals within the outgoing administration refused to accept the choice the American people made at the ballot box and worked to undermine the peaceful transition of power. These efforts were enabled by a complicit media that willingly published falsehoods and hid inconvenient facts from public view, including with respect to General Flynn.”
Thus ends an unsavory chapter.
