I'm one of those who put Donald J. Trump in the White House, so you can pretty much say that I hired him. And given the fact that Trump has fulfilled far more of my expectations than he promised, he has my personal permission to do anything he wants to that Marxist shithole. I'd be more than happy to see him turn Venezuela into Caribbean paradise, complete with a Trump hotel and golf course, a Disney World, and a McDonald's on every corner, if for nothing else, just to make you Marxist shitheads cry.

Her message has been unwavering since early this year, when she boasted of her country’s “infinite potential” for U.S. companies on a podcast hosted by the president’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr.
Mr. Trump has publicly made clear his interest in control of Venezuela’s reserves. In a speech to Republicans in North Carolina in 2023, four years after he backed efforts during his first term to oust Mr. Maduro, Mr. Trump said, “When I left, Venezuela was ready to collapse. We would have taken it over, we would have gotten all that oil, it would have been right next door.”
We don't really need Venezuela's low-grade sludge.
Venezuela’s oil output principally is of the “heavy sour” crude variety, which isn’t typically found within U.S. borders. Canada, Russia and Venezuela are the world’s largest producers of this variety – among which Canada hold the lion’s share of supply to the U.S.
While “lighter, sweeter” grades of crude cost more as they’re easier to refine into petrol/gasoline or diesel, “heavy, sour” grades cost less since they require more refinement to produce the same.
Complex refineries typically have more processing units that can convert heavier crude oil into greater volumes of lighter, more valuable fuels – including and not limited to like diesel, jet fuel, LPG, and naphtha as well as a greater amount of diesel and petrol/gasoline – leading to a higher Gross Refining Margin (GRM).[/b]
You need to get a grip on reality, Cletus. We couldn't give a **** about their oil, we have more than enough of our own. You're obviously confusing Trump with Biden, who begged Maduro to produce and export more oil to the US. Biden eased sanctions against Venezuelan oil, while Trump has imposed sanctions on their oil industry, both in his first and second terms.

It doesn't matter that it's not a shooting war....it's still warfare and needs to be dealt with. The USA doesn't need self recriminations for targeted attacks like this. Ukraine has been drop dumping bottles of vodka on RF Troops so they will get drunk on duty. Zero difference.
We have BEEN at war with Venezuela....the ONLY difference is that Trump has started fighting back. If Democrats had their way they would give Venezuelans SS cards and Voting rights. (Dumb)

In various regions of the globe, crude oil emerges from the earth as a clear, flowing liquid. At times, it appears green. Other times, it manifests as a heavy, thick, viscous substance; as you said "low-grade sludge".
Oil producers categorize these different types as light, medium, and heavy. The first crucial point to understand is that the majority of America's refineries are designed to process the heavier varieties. In simpler terms, for America to ensure its vehicles are supplied with gasoline, it requires heavy, viscous crude. Given that it would take an enormous investment, amounting to billions of dollars, to modify refineries, there is little desire to undertake such an endeavor in the near future.
The second important fact is that the overwhelming majority of oil produced in America, a result of the shale revolution, is light crude. This means that America's refineries are not suited to handle most of the oil that is produced domestically. Consequently, despite the fact that America theoretically extracts more crude oil than it could ever require from its own lands, it remains entirely reliant on imports to satisfy its need for heavy oil.
A significant portion of American crude is sent abroad. Furthermore, America imports over 6,000 barrels of oil daily to supply its refineries in Texas and Louisiana with the heavy crude they can process.
This situation leads us to Venezuela, which, along with Canada and Russia, holds some of the largest reserves of heavy oil in the world. Currently, the majority of American oil is sourced from Canada; however, should Donald Trump wish to reduce dependence on Canadian crude, he is acutely aware of the substantial reserves available just across the Caribbean, which could serve the refineries in Texas and Louisiana.
