Trump Judicial Nominee Cries After Being Exposed As Anti-Gay Christian Extremist
A federal appeals court nominee broke down in tears during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday, reacting to a scathing letter against his confirmation by the American Bar Association after it conducted 60 interviews and concluded that he was “not qualified” for the judicial branch.

Lawrence J.C. VanDyke grew emotional, with his face turning red as he defended himself against the letter’s conclusions that he would not treat LGBTQ litigants fairly.

This is pathetic. He did not even have the gonads to defend himself

Mr. VanDyke’s accomplishments are offset by the assessments of interviewees that Mr. VanDyke is arrogant, lazy, an ideologue, and lacking in knowledge of the day-to-day practice including procedural rules.

There was a theme that the nominee lacks humility, has an ‘entitlement’ temperament, does not have an open mind, and does not always have a commitment to being candid and truthful.

Where the hell does McDonald T-Rump find these people ?

Mr VanDyke would not say affirmatively that he would be fair to any litigant before him, notably members of the LGBTQ community.

Responding to a question from Sen. Josh Hawley about the damning report from the ABA, VanDyke began crying. Hawley asked Vandyke:

There's nothing wrong with crying when you're sad. The alternative for men is early death. In my grandmother's day, it was ordinary for women to outlive their husbands by 20 to 30 years. In this generation, women will outlive their husbands by 30 to 40 years for the same reason. No release. Men have no release from suffering on the cellular level when they refuse to even acknowledge sorrow even at their best friend's burial. It's not just a guy thing. There's nothing good about being a widow.

Did they cite any examples from his rulings ?

For starters:
Battle Born Progress | Lawrence VanDyke demonstrates unfitness for 9th Circuit at nomination hearing

While VanDyke may claim he is not an intolerant religious bigot, the evidence suggests otherwise. For example, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights laid out its position in a detailed letter opposing VanDyke’s nomination. The detailed and well-sourced letter notes that VanDyke has consistently attacked LGBTQ rights and fought against reproductive freedom for more than a decade.

And Joe My God notes:

Mr. VanDyke has represented, given speeches to, and worked for the homophobic Alliance Defending Freedom. Mr. VanDyke has attacked LGBTQ equality on multiple fronts throughout the past 15 years

Battle Born Progress | Lawrence VanDyke demonstrates unfitness for 9th Circuit at nomination hearing

LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, President Donald Trump’s hand-picked nominees for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, Lawrence VanDyke and Patrick Bumatay, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee and were questioned about their respective records. Trump is on record describing the 9th Circuit as a “big thorn” in his side and a “dangerous disgrace” in response to rulings countering policies his administration’s policies, particularly on immigration.

Annette Magnus, Executive Director of Battle Born Progress, released the following statement:

When Lawrence VanDyke’s nomination to the 9th Circuit was announced, we were well-aware of his extreme, bigoted, and out of touch beliefs that defined his mediocre career fighting for corporations and special interests over the people and the environment. Today’s hearing, as well as the American Bar Association’s assessment, drove home the reality that VanDyke must not be confirmed for a lifetime seat on our federal bench. His half-truths and obfuscations about his past work for an anti-LGBTQ+ hate group were galling. Furthermore, his inability to maintain composure while playing along with the insinuation of a vast conspiracy on the part of the ABA to sabotage him shows he’s got an axe to grind.

VanDyke’s record betrays his desire to be a conservative activist for causes such as dismantling Roe v. Wade, rolling back civil rights and anti-discrimination laws protecting LGBTQ+ Americans, defending corporate interests from the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act, and opposing tribal water rights, just to name a few. In addition, his views on gun violence prevention, or lack thereof, are not acceptable for a state that survived the worst mass shooting in modern US history. His unscrupulous carpet-bagging, lack of ties to Nevada, and lack of experience to serve as a judge underscores that he is he is far from trustworthy and fair-minded. We’re committed to working with Senator Catherine Cortez Masto and Senator Jacky Rosen to ensure his full record is laid bare and his confirmation is stopped.”

About Lawrence VanDyke:

A thorough analysis of VanDyke’s record was published by the Alliance for Justice. Yesterday, the American Bar Association gave VanDyke a ‘Not Qualified’ rating in a letter which stated, “Mr. VanDyke’s accomplishments are offset by the assessments of interviewees that Mr. VanDyke is arrogant, lazy, an ideologue, & lacking in knowledge of the day-to-day practice including procedural rules.”

As Montana’s Solicitor General, VanDyke advocated for the overturn of Roe v. Wade in an amicus brief he co-wrote to support a 20-week abortion ban in Arizona, and recommended that his Attoreny General also file a brief defending a photographer who refused business to a lesbian couple in New Mexico. He has also been a loyal foot-soldier for the gun lobby, filing multiple briefs fighting against gun violence prevention legislation across the country.

"Scathing letters" are a dime a dozen in this political climate but some judicial types are more sensitive than others and the poor guy showed that he was sensitive but not sensitive enough for the vicious hatred on the left. I doubt if Judge Jeanine would shed any tears.

As usual, TheRegressivePervert demonstrates his extreme hatred and bigotry toward anyone who holds to basic standards of decency and morality, and fails to grasp that this puts him extremely out-of-touch with mainstream Americans.

All it says is that he “attacked LGBQT rights”, without citing an actual example.

Sounds like a baseless accusation, accusing someone of being a homophobe when it actuality they just won’t promote their perverted Agenda.

On another note, I think Trump has hired good people, he just can't seem to get along with any of them. It seems that most leave on bad terms. I imagine that it's REALLY difficult to work for Trump. He's a results-oriented guy and has no problem telling people, quite directly, when he's displeased with them and their performance. He's definitely a nice contrast to Obama, who apparently didn't care if anyone ever produced any quality results, as long as they didn't make Obama look bad. Obama was hyper-sensitive to his image whereas Trump doesn't care. Trump's only care is getting things done. Frankly, it's a "badge of honor" that many career politicians, government bureaucrats, Hollywood elites and media personalities despise him. Of course, none of the aforementioned care about average Americans, their loyalty is to the Democratic Party.

In other words, he stands for the rights of the most innocent and defenseless of all human beings not to be murdered in cold blood to our Constitution, he stands for freedoms of speech, religion, conscience, and association, as stated and implied in the First Amendment, and he stands for the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms, as affirmed in the Second Amendment.

No surprise, when a thouroughly evil and depraved piece of sh•t like TheRegressivePervert condemns a man for standing for good.

Not that there is anything the least bit wrong with being a “homophobe”. All that that means is that one recognizes a depraved and destructive sexual perversion for what it truly is.

Has this guy had many rulings overturned? If not, then he is probably a solid choice. It seems to me that the 9th is chock-full of leftist judges that have had an inordinate number of rulings overturned by the SCOTUS. I take it the OP has no problem with those judges.

What a total load of horseshit. The only think the Fuckwit in Chief gives fig about is his image. Why does the Moronic Moocher tweet and cry like a little bitch every time someone remotely disagrees of criticises him?

Your opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion even if it's wrong as hell. Like yours.

Have a nice week-end! :113:
