Trump Disses Pro-Lifers

I see the utility in abortion but once, just once, I’d like to hear Trump say he screwed up.

It's one of the reasons I'll not be voting for him in the primary.
So if his primary opponent is a rino or isn’t clear on ditching the green scam or stopping illegal immigration you’ll vote for him anyway as long he’s not an orange boor?

He doesn't have a chance, so he ought to go for some hot eye-candy with big tits, for entertainment on the campaign trail, that won't charge him $130,000 to $150,000 when his is done with her.

DeSantis will say whatever benefits him at the moment. We've seen big talking GOP pols before, only to watch them backtrack the second they get elected and sworn in.
I get the impression that he has more integrity than that but he’s been very careful about not being committed on certain subjects. The green scam is one.

You mean the ones not in jail?

I don't think the post is about BLM, Antifa looting, killing and burning thugs, I think it was speaking of the Jan.6th protesters who didn't rob, murder or burn anything.

Trump blamed pro-lifers for 2020 election. He said:

2023 is off to a resounding start, with the most pro-life president of the post-Roe v. Wade era blaming pro-lifers for the Republicans’ disappointing showing in the midterm elections. After being widely blamed for that poor showing, Donald Trump struck back on New Year’s Day, writing on Truth Social: “It wasn’t my fault that the Republicans didn’t live up to expectations in the MidTerms. I was 233-20! It was the ‘abortion issue,’ poorly handled by many Republicans, especially those that firmly insisted on No Exceptions, even in the case of Rape, Incest, or Life of the Mother, that lost large numbers of Voters.

Trump is correct again. Some Republicans are really stupid. Who the HELL doesn't want to give an exception for the life of the mother or incest or rape

Believing in life for the unborn is not stupid. It is blessed. While rape is not a pleasant thing, giving life to furnish a child to a childless couple is also a blessing. If the woman is traumatized, on she should be allowed the choice between life or a morning after pill.

Thanks. I was wrong. Leo provided a link but it was a one word link. Thanks for providing several links.

Some people believe life is more important than rape, incest, or safety. Perhaps in those instances it should be a private matter. If the woman does not want her rape to be a public spectacle, and if the man who raped her sues for custody, that would be cruel and unusual punishment for her. I am pro life, but there is a limit that should be respected for the woman's perspective.

I also respect those who completely
detest abortion due to their religion or even because they feel that it is untenable to abort a living human being.

But because rape is a crime, I think any demands a rapist makes should be ignored legally since he should be behind bars for life.

As for President Trump dissing right to lifers who are firm Republicans, and have supported him in the past, I think he lost more supporters by betraying too many loyal and faithful people.

And laws are passed by a majority of legislators, not executives. A more important issue is the damage that was done by Democrats going after freedom of speech. I want a President that can fight for freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and reasonable Constitutional decisions for us all.

Cool say we give you that 3% and you give up the 97 percent done for convenience!

Wow... let's you and him fight! I Love it.

Of course, this isn't really a deep political commentary, this is Trump, malignant narcissist that he is, being unable to accept ANY blame for leading his party to three electoral defeats in a row. So it is ALWAYS someone else's fault.

The pro-lifers, as much as I despise them, aren't really at fault here. Once you've accepted the notion that fetuses are people, then you can't really make exceptions (except maybe for the life of the mother, but no one was really arguing that).

The Republicans could have been like Democrats and simply dodged all questions about whether they support banning abortion with no exceptions.

Well, no, you can't. Do you support the right of a woman to abort a pregnancy after she has been raped? It's a simple yes or no question. And if your answer is yes, then that is pretty much the end of the discussion.

Just like Democrats dodge all questions about whether they support allowing all abortions, not matter how late in the pregnancy.

Except no one is going through 7 months of pregnancy to have an abortion unless something has gone horribly wrong with the pregnancy.

Ending Roe v. Wade and their push for limiting abortions in the wake of the ruling almost certainly did cost the Republicans some seats. Nothing has been internalized by Democratic women more than the "right" to kill their unborn babies up to and even a little beyond the moment of birth. No doubt that motivated them to go to the polls.

Or maybe women just don't want the government to tell them what they can do with their bodies. What amazes me is you wingnuts went absolutely apeshit when Biden merely suggested a vaccine mandate, but you want to tell a woman that she has to have her rapist's deformed baby, not matter what!

Sometimes you don't get rewarded for doing the right thing.
And sometimes you get exactly what you deserve.

You see, the GOP has had 50 years to overturn Roe. They passed silly laws they knew wouldn't get past the courts. Republican presidents had the good sense to appoint pro-life justices (After FIVE GOP appointees were in on the original decision). Only because Trump appointed the rapist and the crazy religious nut to the court are we in this position.

By George, I think you've got it! :mm:

what if she is too traumitized to take the pill the next day?

But it was never about you. Come on, this is the one that goes too far?

The Religious right was behind him when he paid off porn stars.
The free-traders were behind him when he put tariffs on China.
The Libertarians were behind him when he put kids in concentration camps.

Your side sacrificed every principle you had on the altar of this guy's ego.

What's one more?
