Trump crams one last racist policy into his final days as president

Let those so called Confederate generals or whatever be who they are, the losers of the war, and stop honoring them. Trump is threatening a veto to play to his racist base, most of whom are not even military
Trump is wise enough to know that ALL that is America should stay in tact. Core Americans have built the greatest nation on the planet in a very short time by doing it their way. Why would anybody sane think lowlife pieces of shit should have a say in the direction of our nation? We know what degenerate lowlife pieces of shit do to their cities, states and nations.

You know this was agreed bi-partisan majority of 295 to 125. in the house...

There is a veto in the Senate to override the President... Would seem fitting..

Even the state of Mississippi voted to remove the Stars 'n' Bars from its state flag and replace it with a flower.

“The president has skillfully stoked the racism inherent in his base.” ibid

True – it’s his only ‘skill.’

Thankfully Trump and his racist, bigoted policies will soon be gone.

Whats the purpose of keeping names of Confederate generals on military bases?

Because like the Confederates, our troops are decent people. They don't burn cities and massacre women and children like the Union Generals did.

I served 20 years in the Air force and I am nothing like a damn Confederate.

I served 20 years in the Air force

So did my kid brother.

I spent 20 in the Navy.

What's that prove?

What's the big deal? As President , Biden would be able to change the name of Ft. Hood to Ft. Trayvon and Ft. Bragg to Camp Freddy Gay if he desires.

It isn't a permanent move by Trump at all. But it would force Biden and D's to take responsibility for his OWN actions.

Whats the purpose of keeping names of Confederate generals on military bases?

What is the purpose of getting rid of them due to butthurt snowflake SJW idiots like you.

OMG A FORT NAME GIVES ME THE VAPORS

You expect black troops to served on bases named after confederate generals that wanted to keep blacks enslaved? The ignorance and narcissism of racist white people who expect blacks to just suck up their ignorance and conform

Should they rename the bases after the white supremacists that won the war?

Whats the purpose of keeping names of Confederate generals on military bases?
To intimidate and frighten Black citizens, to discourage Black Americans from seeking their comprehensive civil rights, and to justify Black codes, Jim Crow, and segregation.

The fact is that ‘confederate’ monuments, statues, and like commemorations had nothing to do with ‘honoring’ those from Southern states who fought in the Civil War; indeed, those ‘monuments’ were erected during the 1890s and early 20th Century as a stark reminder to Black residents of Southern states that they were second-class citizens, that they better ‘mind their place’ lest they find themselves in the company of a lynching party.

That’s why it’s perfectly appropriate and warranted to remove such statues and monuments – and to rename US military bases.

whats the purpose of wasting money and time changing them??

Hey, why did Rump waste money and time removing his name from his collapsed casinos?
I doubt he did,, and it sure wasnt tax money used if it was,,,

your TDS is getting worse,,

You can doubt all you like but here in Reality:

>> It's a success for Trump (the man, not the casino) who sued Trump Entertainment Resorts, the company that runs Trump Plaza Casino. The real estate mogul wanted his name removed from two of the Atlantic City casinos: Trump Plaza and the Trump Taj Mahal. <<

Get that? Rump sued Rump. As far as who paid for it, could be anybody --- customers, the USFL, tax cheating, but underlying it all is that Rump inherited his millions from Fred who scammed it off the government in the first place, so ultimately yeah it was tax money.

Anyway the question wasn't "who will pay for it", it was "why would you do that". And the answer in both cases: "Optics".

Heritage and history.
Wrong.

The only heritage and history recognized is that of racism and hate which manifested as Black codes, Jim Crow, and segregation – a history of slavery, rape, murder, and lynching.

It’s a heritage and history that must be placed in its proper, factual context and never forgotten as the most repugnant aberration of American History.

And the notion that those who engaged in treason and war crimes, those who fought to preserve the heinous institution of slavery, those who fought to destroy the United States should be somehow ‘honored’ is as reprehensible as it is wrong.

Rename name Princeton and Yale Universities..

OK I have some time in late afternoon, I'll get right on it.

Princeton is named after its town (which was there before there was a US let alone a Civil War), and of course Yale is named after the manufacturer of the lock on the front door.

of course Yale is named after the manufacturer of the lock on the front door.

WRONG!!!

Elihu Yale - Wikipedia

"Elihu Yale (5 April 1649 – 8 July 1721) was a British-American merchant and a slave trader,[1] President of the East India Company settlement in Fort St. George, at Madras, and a benefactor of the Yale College in his honor.[2]"

SLAVE TRADER?
