Trump: Coca-cola agrees to use real cane sugar in US drinks

No its not. That's far more than 10 teaspoons. Don't just google "what does 10 teaspoons of sugar look like" because you get a bunch of crap.

One coke has 36 grams, divided by 4 is 9. So it's 9 teaspoons.

42 grams, measured by scientists.

Any way you slice it, it's a lot of sugar.

President Trump was on a sugar high Wednesday, announcing that Coca-Cola would soon include the real sweet stuff in its US-sold beverages.

"I have been speaking to Coca-Cola about using REAL Cane Sugar in Coke in the United States, and they have agreed to do so," Trump, 79, revealed on Truth Social.

Coca-Cola uses high fructose corn syrup in its US production, in contrast to cane sugar in countries like Mexico and the United Kingdom.

American coke, willing to do the job of a Mexican coke? ;)

Corn lobby gonna be pissed.

Cane sugar Coke > Nonexistent Epstein Files

And this matters because?

Why is this in the politics forum?

What? Coke already sells coke with sugar in it. We call it Mexican Coke.

I have been able to get real sugar coke forever. Its just in those glass bottles(which is the best) and they are more expensive. I know nothing of mexican coke lol.

All this talk about coke and now i got to shit (only real coke lovers will get this)

Sorry bout that,

REAL NEWS*****

1. Its Great Trump has the power to get coke changed, from HFCS which is man made, corn is not sweet, tastes good but, they say converts to sugar when ate, but not sugar, till it gets injested, now they have figured out how to make corn into a sweet syrup in a vat, and mix that with water and the other secret ingredients to make the current coke, saying, its basically the same thing, * basically *.
2. Not so, you will see peoples bodies cant handle HFCS, it blocks up thier guts, its a man made ingredient, like plastic, the body doesnt know what to do with it, so it stores it, ever notice how many fat people we have now, compared to the 1960s?
3. Peoples human structures cant handle all those extra pounds, so diabetes was born, then Big Pharma chemical companies had a new drug to make, for one, * Insulin *, there were many more derived to help those fat people.
4. Yes there you have it, the New Coke was poison, and Big Pharma knew just what to do, hire the chemist to invent knew drugs to sell, start with insulin, knowing that fat peoples will die off getting * pandcreatic cancer * in time, and nobody will survive, they will * ALL *die off, too soon, so that they cant buy thier meds, and * Insulins *.
5. Trump is working for our good, and can get things changed!
6. More power to Trump!

SPEEL CHECKERS PLEASE CHECK THESE FOR ERRORS, YOU NAZI SPEEL CHECKERS, THANKS!

I'm waiting for Coke to announce a change. Until then, I'll just consider this more of Trump spewing social media BS.

I don't drink soda almost ever, so it doesn't change things for me either way. My lady definitely prefers the cane sugar Coke to the regular HFCS stuff, so if this actually happens, she'd be happy with it for her occasional Coke.

Well, it was the sugar-free version. Come on! lol I agree that the sugar-free Coke tastes wateryish. I don't think I've ever tried sugar-free Pepsi.

So what? I've had the regular too and there isn't much difference. Pepsi is better.

Haven't drank sodas in any other form than in cocktails for years, because of the HFC...Would get the Coke from Mexico whenever possible...I anticipate my whiskey and Coke is going to taste a lot better.

Ditto. I use Coke strictly as a mixer for cocktails and coffee, and only use the Mexican variety. If American Coke is going with cane sugar, that's awesome.

No one has pointed this out so I guess I'll put this out there: an important consideration in any cola is the container. The container has a huge impact on the flavor and taste. It isn't just whether they use real sugar or just corn syrup.
  1. Glass bottle is the best and wherever possible, this is the preferred container, even if the least convenient.
  2. Aluminum can is the next best. Not nearly as good as glass, but way better than plastic bottle.
  3. Those big, plastic bottles are the worst. Used strictly for their low cost and recyclibility.

No shit?

I don't have to spend extra for Mexican Coke anymore?

Life gets better and better, and it's only been six months!
I been buyin' largely Mexican 16 Oz Cokes or RC for quite some time.
They got it where I go. It's the American way. 😆
Over 5 years I've been buying it.

Coke sucks anyway. Pepsi tastes a lot better.
Agreed to disagree.

i will say that these days. The store brands knock off of Coke taste better. Then what used to be known as "the real thing."

HEB brand in particular, I would pay extra to get it instead of coke, but it is cheaper than coke.
Coke has never been the same after they went with that "Coke II" back around 1980.
Yes, they finally told the truth and stopped calling it. Coke. Classic, I now call it "original flavor" coke or some such.

No, "original taste."
