When the CIA said there was little evidence, they were ordered to go back and manufacture some.

All the old tropes have been resurrected to entice us into another military fiasco. A country that poses no threat to us, or to its neighbors, is on the verge of acquiring a Weapon of Mass Destruction (WMD) that imperils our existence. The country and its leaders embody pure evil. Freedom and democracy are at stake. If we do not act now the next smoking gun will be a mushroom cloud. Our military superiority assures victory. We are the saviors of the world. Massive bombing, an updated version of Shock and Awe, will bring peace and harmony.

We heard these canards leading up to the 2003 war in Iraq. Twenty-two years later they have been resurrected. Anyone who advocates for negotiations, for diplomacy and peace, is a stooge for terrorists.

Of course, that did not happen, as no planning whatsoever had been seriously undertaken regarding what to do once Hussein was deposed. They spent the next seven years going from one half assed plan to the next, while Iraq burned and US no bid “contractors’ cashed in.

We would have been far better off if we would have limited Iraq to an air war.

We have naval and air superiority to a level that we are virtually untouchable.

We should solve this problem now, while Israel is doing the heavy lifting and Russia is preoccupied with Ukraine.

Iran has called for the death of both Israel and the US. They have enriched Uranium to 60% which has no civilian use. If they are using the enrichment as a bargaining chip, then they are stupid as that very action has already caused destruction in their country. Coupling bombastic(like the pun?) rhetoric with action(enriching the Uranium) that supports that rhetoric tends to make people take you seriously. Iran needs to be rid of their nuclear program and giving them more goodies they can use to kill more people via their terrorist proxies in exchange for their compliance is not the answer. Grow up.
