Here is a list of 10 Reasons for the Syria Civil War
10. Economic Crisis
One of the ten reasons of the Syria war is the economic crisis. The economy of the country is just going down and there are no jobs, no employment and no cash flow as such. The living standard of the country has gone down; hence the Syrian liberals couldn’t take it more and started revolting.

9. Corruption
It is another reason for the Syrian Civil War. The place is so corrupted and there is nothing that a common man can do about it. The official people bears loyalty to nobody, and even for getting a birth certificate, the common Syrian has to bribe the people. This is how Syria became and there was nothing that was been done to get over it.

8. Clashes between the Sunni and Alawites
The majority of people in Syria are Sunni and then there are Shia and Christians. There is no proper culture. The family of the government in itself is mixed. The man of the family is Alawite and is married to Sunni woman and the family decedents are Syrian Kurds. The major reason for this war is the clashes between these religious groups.

7. Unruly Military Actions
The Military has taken a step forward, and today they do not really wait for a superior to command them. they do what they feel is right and they started treating civilians like nothing. They are killed, detained, bombed and the army doesn’t give any reasons.

6. Human Rights
There are human rights in the country, like in every country. But in Syria it is a bygone story. Anyone who tries to do anything is detained or killed. There is no right to freedom, expression, assembly or anything. People cannot roam around in the city in a group of more than 4 people, if found, they are just taken into custody.

5. Foreign Intervention
Russia has been supporting the people of Syria from a long time, and other countries are showing support to the other groups of the country. It is no more a war of just Syria, Russia stepped in and so did US who is supporting the other group. And in such a situation it is difficult for the UN to take any step.

4. Militant in Syria
The militants in the country are another major reason for the unending war. A lot of groups like Al-qaeda, ISI are having their own groups and agendas and are fighting in this war and there is just fear in the country.

3. Drought
This is one of the reasons for the Syrian Civil War. More than half the land in Syria is dead and cannot bear anything. It has been affecting a majority of population since years. A lot of people are jobless because of this and there is nothing the Government could do about it.
Can't believe that "wrong pipeline was selected for right-of-way through Syria" wasn't the top reason. These things are usually about money.

Who wanted a pipeline thru Syria? Qatar? Doesn't matter what Qatar wanted.. They share the South Pars gas field with Iran and Iran is the top dog.
Qatar, UAE, all of Europe and US. But it's really about reducing reliance on Russian gas imports.

What is the date on those drawings?
No idea. But it's from a 4 week old article from GreekCityTimes.com about how the Iran-Iraq-Syrian Friendship Pipeline could consolidate Greece as a Natural Gas Hub for Europe

Why do you ask?

KSA wants no part of a gas pipeline thru Syria.. They did that from 1950 thru the early 1980s.. too unstable .. too much sabotage. Qatar answers to Iran.

Might be wishful thinking on the part of the Greeks.
Why did you ask how old the date of the drawing was?

Why do you ask?

KSA wants no part of a gas pipeline thru Syria.. They did that from 1950 thru the early 1980s.. too unstable .. too much sabotage. Qatar answers to Iran.

Might be wishful thinking on the part of the Greeks.
Why did you ask how old the date of the drawing was?

Because KSA already has a pipeline and they aren't going to let Qatar transit KSA.
Do yo have a map showing that route? Or a link?

Arabpipeline.jpg
That doesn't go to Europe, dude. Can you show the route to Europe?

I'm starting to question your ability to be objective.

This is simple stuff. You are making this up as you go along.

Syria has a population roughly equivalent to Florida and is relatively rich in oil. When Syria won it's independence in the 60's it immediately became a Marxist socialist government and it's economy collapsed. The drought in the Mid East impacted agriculture but oil is still being produced. The problem for Syria is that it has a fractured government that supports the wealthy socialist elite but offers no guarantee of freedom and it's citizens are taught to blame Israel for their problems.

Syria has no oil.. Their production peaked in 1996. What little they have is only fit for asphalt.

At some point you are going to have to apologize for your mistake and retract your statement.

This is one of the reasons for the Syrian Civil War. More than half the land in Syria is dead and cannot bear anything. It has been affecting a majority of population since years. A lot of people are jobless because of this and there is nothing the Government could do about it.

I must be unfamiliar with it. I am certainly unfamiliar with what it has to do with what we are talking about as you have not made that clear.

Can you show the map of the natural gas pipeline from the Middle East to Europe or not?

Cause I don't believe there is one that exists.

This is pretty simple. Europe imports ~40% of their gas from Russia. There is no pipeline connecting the gas from the Middle East to Russia. There were two pipeline proposals to bring gas from the Middle East to Europe; the Qatar-Turkey pipeline and the Iran-Iraq-Syria pipeline which is known as the Friendship Pipeline. Both proposals were routed through Syria. Syria rejected the Qatar-Turkey pipeline right-of-way and accepted the Iran-Iraq-Syria pipeline right-of-way. Thus ensuring that Russia maintains control of 40% of Europe's gas imports.

Syrian oil production is irrelevant to this discussion. Syria's only role here is to deny right-a-way access to the Qatar-Turkey pipeline to protect Russia's dominance in gas exports to Europe. Syria is acting as Russia's puppet just like Iran. The insurgency in Syria is funded by the Saudi's who want a new regime that will allow their pipeline to be built. It's all about money for the Saudis. Punishing their enemies is just a side benefit.

It does not matter that Qatar has an interest in the South Pars gas field. Russia doesn't even care if a pipeline gets built. They just want to maintain their dominant position in exporting gas to Europe. It's a strategic advantage Russia and is a knife across the throat of Europe. All they care about is not letting gas from Saudi Arabia make it's way to Europe.

The SUMED pipeline does not connect to Qatar, UAE or Saudi Arabia. It's in North Africa. The gas reserves of Egypt are nothing compared to Iran and Russia. So that will never be a long term solution for Europe. The only long term solution is gas from Saudi Arabia and that needs to go through Syria.

I am appalled by your lack of objectivity here.

So that will never be a long term solution for Europe. The only long term solution is gas from Saudi Arabia and that needs to go through Syria.

I am appalled by your lack of objectivity here.

A pipeline from Qatar thru Syria was quashed in 2009.

The Saudis use SUMED all the time .. See Yanbu and Jubail?

Saudi Arabia isn't going to go along with any pipeline thru Syria. Have you never heard of TAPLINE?

My objectivity has NOTHING to do with it. South Pars may be the biggest gas field in the world.. Qatar is NOT going to go against Iran and Russia.

This is one of the reasons for the Syrian Civil War. More than half the land in Syria is dead and cannot bear anything. It has been affecting a majority of population since years. A lot of people are jobless because of this and there is nothing the Government could do about it.

Because KSA already has a pipeline and they aren't going to let Qatar transit KSA.
Do yo have a map showing that route? Or a link?

That doesn't go to Europe, dude. Can you show the route to Europe?

I'm starting to question your ability to be objective.

This is simple stuff. You are making this up as you go along.

I guess you re unfamiliar with SUMED
At some point you are going to have to retract your statements. Cause I'm not going away until you do and there is no existing pipeline bringing natural gas from the Middle East to Europe. If there were, Europe would not be importing ~40% of their gas from Russia. Nor would there be a need to build another one.

By 2011 Syrian oil production had plunged by 90%.

Qatar wants a gas pipeline across Syria. Syria turned them down. It really doesn't matter what you and I think. Qatar shares the South Pars gas field with Iran and Iran is going to do what Russia wants.

My objectivity has NOTHING to do with it. South Pars may be the biggest gas field in the world.. Qatar is NOT going to go against Iran and Russia.
I've addressed everyone of those points. Your pride is clouding your objectivity.
