I was in Latin class when it was announced. I was numb as was most of the students and our teacher began crying. I believe the buses came early to take us home.

There was 3 days of mourning and the television was on non stop. I saw Jack Ruby shoot Lee Harvey Oswald when he was being moved from jail by the police dept. How horribly sad it was.

John Jr. saluting his father's coffin as it went by in the funeral procession. All tear jerkers.

Liberals have been trying for half a century to turn Oswald into a right wing maniac. He was a left wing deserter who renounced his citizenship and went to Russia. Why the CIA and the FBI welcomed him back into the US with his KGB wife without charging him with at least desertion is anybody's guess.

Kennedy's assassination, combined with Civil Rights and the Viet Nam war, was the Radicals' trifecta. Belief in the legitimacy of our government was replaced with a form of social anarchism which was ripe for political manipulation. Fifty years later we are still paying the price.
