To Conservatives: What drives the economy?

I vote, and I'm clearly and (thank God!) not a part of your 'we', I work for a living and I don't envy and covet what the successful have earned. I'm not riddled with jealousy and bitterness over what others have as you appear to be. My parents taught me to support myself, rely on myself, and not expect hand outs, that I had to work hard for what I wanted.

Are you talking about the western Europe whose economy is floundering, except for Germany perhaps?

FALSE PREMISES, DISTORTIONS AND LIES, the ONLY thing conservatives EVER have in their toolbox

Yes, Western Europe just crumbled *shaking head*

The onset of the recent financial crisis in late 2007 created an intellectual crisis for conservatives, who had been touting for decades the benefits of a hands-off approach to financial market regulation. As the crisis quickly spiraled out of control, it quickly became apparent that the massive credit bubble of the mid-2000s, followed by the inevitable bust that culminated with the financial markets freeze in the fall of 2008, occurred predominantly among those parts of the financial system that were least regulated, or where regulations existed but were largely unenforced.

Predictably, many conservatives sought to blame the bogeymen they always blamed.

Which part was a lie? Are you coherent and capable of a conversation, or are you just a cut and paste troll who has no opinion of their own, so I should just ignore you?

Were you perhaps responding to another post? Cause your answer has absolutely nothing to do with my post that you quoted?

How does corporate compensation work in your fantasy world? Break it down and explain the pros of your solution. What should a CEO earn?

Conservative policy NEVER works as promised, ANYWHERE it's ever tried. Weird you don't know that

Hello? Is there anyone at home upstairs? Or can't you answer my question? I'm not talking about conservative policy, so if you're not going to address my post, don't quote it.

Tell us how coroporate compensation should work? And what should a CEO earn?

Conservative policy DOES equate to CEO's pay. Higher tax rates say of 70% how many boardrooms are going to reward a CEO if Feds take 70%? BUT THANKS FOR NOT BEING HONEST OR BEING ABLE TO GIVE ONE POLICY CONSERVATIVES EVER HAD THAT WORKED!

Transparent and predictable deflection noted.

.

PLEASE give me ONE policy EVER conservatives have EVER been on the correct side of history on in the US?

First of all, I'm not a conservative and I'd be a lousy representative for them.

Second, I know how partisan ideologues work. No matter what evidence is presented, you'll say it's not good enough. I've been down this road many times here, so please play your little games with someone else.

You continue to divert. If you're not capable of starting your own business, just admit it and keep blaming others. You don't have the guts and the ability to take the risks and make the sacrifices required. Just be honest. It's not like anyone here would be surprised.

Whatever makes you "feel" a little better about yourself.

.

Libertarians are FARRRRR right on economics. They believe in myths and fairy tales Bubba!

Why do conservatives always accuse the intelligent, accomplished people of promoting a left wing agenda? You can't expect them to promote the agenda purported by the"Stupid Party"!

Both ends of the spectrum believe in myths and fairy tales. The problem is, the True Believers like you have most of the energy and make most of the noise, and the rest of us have to deal with it.

I know you think you're more intelligent than anyone who dares to disagree with you on anything. That's a common symptom of being a True Believer.

Amazing how those on the ends are mirror images of each other.

Got it, You'll stick with the Ayn Rand bullshit over actual proven theories!

It's a fact that every piece of proposed legislation from the House has some sort of poison pill contained in the proposal and the Repubs in the House KNOW that Harry isn't gonna bring it up. Because of the stupidity contained in the Repub proposal.

To bad that you are so stupid that YOU believe that Repubs have your interest in mind.
At least Harry knows the truth. Repubs are just posturing for people like you. So you can blame anyone else for Repub failures, except Repubs.

Amazingly, it works every time on people like you. It's Harrys fault. It's Obama's fault. Isn't that what you just said? See, it's working.

Do you really believe that the democrats have your best interests in mind?

Well no. At least no me personally. However I do believe that Dems serve different masters that Republicans. And the Democrat masters don't get mad if EVERY SINGLE LITTLE ******* THING their way.

The there is the little problem of the fact that I have always done better financially under Democrats than Republicans. That last little financial disaster under Repubs really hurt me.

I do like the idea, whether it be lip service or not, that the Dems are willing to make harder decisions that more people won't like to protect the air, land and sea.

I do appreciate that the Dems aren't willing the trust the free market to deliver products that won't harm me and mine.

And I hate hypocrites and liars. And from what I've seen, read and heard from Republican politicians and media mouthpieces, hypocrites and liars are what they are.

And I really hated the Iraq War and torture as a means of interrogation.

So yea, I guess I do think the Democrats have more of my interests in mind than the Republicans do.

But thanks for asking.

It all goes back to the Democrats being a coalition party. So many factions, they have to work together.
Most Republicans have no idea what their party is doing. It's why the scream liar every time you link to a GOP party position. They feel that simply can't be true. But it is. And it doesn't stop them from voting white, as in the Republican Party being 90% white. And that 10% that's not white? That includes everyone who doesn't see themselves as white. It doesn't mean 10% black.

]Business investment of course is the more important component of the economy, because that's what stimulates growth.[/SIZE]
Currently the administration is savaging that in two ways: the first is higher taxes with promises of more to come. That includes the Obamacare crap, which has been put off but is coming. Companies anticipating higher employee costs are not looking to expand.
The second is more regulation. Virtually every industry has seen more regulation, which adds to costs. The uncertainty of future regulatory action adds to anxiety among corporations, prompting them to increase their cash reserves and put off expansion projects
While employment has been increasing, the dirty secret is most of those are part time jobs. People must cobble together two part time jobs to get the earning power they used to get from one. So I don't think household income has increased that much. That's mostly an aside however.

Now, ignorant assholes like government worker Nosmo just can't understand why corporations are not stepping up to the plate and opening their coffers to employees, doing their civic duty. This is beause the only thing he's ever run is his keyboard on this site.

Good god you are a stupid ******* rabbit. Still repeating that same ole lie. But then again, you are so ******* stupid you believe what you write.

Every legit economist in America and most of the rethugs on this site all agree that the economy of the USA (65 - 70 %)is driven by consumer spending.

Except for the stupid ******* rabbit.

So rabbit, if a company producing widgets starts by building millions of widgets and no one buys them, how did that help the economy or the company that was stupid enough to crank up supply with no demand?

This answer should be a hoot. Or the squeal of a stupid rabbit.

So, weasel, if millions of consumers want to buy widgets, and no one is making them, how does THAT help the economy or the locusts like you who think consumption is everything? Oh, look, the former Soviet Union, with people standing out in the snow to buy ice cream, because that's the only time ALL YEAR that it's available! Sitting on a waiting list for years to purchase a car that most countries wouldn't consider a suitable lunch box!

I can only assume that "every legit economist" means "the ones who say what I want to hear".

The economy isn't a wheeled basket with someone pushing it. It's a seesaw, with both sides balancing each other. Be a little ******* dumber, would you? I could use a new paperweight.

Isn't it great! Everything about the economy since Obama became president is just terrible.....but he is such a genius that he has managed to delay the effects of his poor policies until after he is out of office. In the meantime, he has tricked the economy into a slow, steady recovery.

Diabolical , incompetent, marxist!

:lmao: Ohmigod, stop, please! My lower abs are still sore from my workout yesterday, and all this laughter is killing me.

Huh? Where have I said I agree with Rand?

Decaf, seriously. You're so consumed with your partisan ideology that your perception to even the most obvious and basic is distorted.

Do you think that's a good thing?

Stupid LIB nitt witts.
So raise the minimum wage to $15.00
Watch how fast McDonalds raises the cost of their burgers to be able to stay in business. Their suppliers are now having to pay their employees the same $15.00 an hour so they raise their prices to McDonalds.
The profit margins on most businesses now barely surviving are in the low single digits.
Then the family of four with daddy now raking in $15.00 an hour goes to McDonalds to buy dinner and the bill that used to be $20.00 is now $30.00.
When is the next time that family will go to McDonalds? Never?
So business drops and McDonalds lays off a third of their employees and the rest become basically working slaves who are shit scared of losing their job so they won't dare complain if the working conditions aren't right.
Lose-lose-lose-lose.
Typical stupid LIB POV. "Give everyone a trophy! Give everyone a raise, whether they have earned it of not".
Forget $15.00. Let's make it $20.00.
The ONLY reason the LIBs want to increase the MW is to hopefully secure the vote in 2014.
"We're looking out for you. The REPs HATE you and are trying to destroy the middle class".

You got ANY verifiable evidence of your right wing fantasy? Or is this just something that you "feel" would happen? ANY evidence at all?

Besides that, who ever got hurt by not eating at McDonalds?

Well, the employees at McDonald's get hurt by people not eating there, fucknut. But who cares about real-world consequences? What matters is that YOU get your warm fuzzies, and your party gets votes, right? And any collateral damage can be dismissed with, "No one really needed that closed business, anyway".

Obama is president.

WHAT ECONOMY???????????
It's the economy that was shattered when he took office. The economy that was bleeding off 700,000 jobs a month. The economy that crashed the financial sector. The economy that left folks bankrupt and with underwater mortgages. The Bush economy.

To quote James Carville, it's the economy, stupid!

Do you mean the economy that had more people working the day Bush left office than today? The economy where household wealth was about where it is today? The economy with many fewer people on food stamps and SSI than today? The economy where the Feds owed 10T vs the 17T today?

You get pwned every time you post.

The Republican Myth of Obama’s ‘Part-Time America’ Gets Destroyed With One Graph

Screen-Shot-2014-07-14-at-12.10.59-PM-1.jpg

“The president’s critics love this talking point. But since 2010, full-time jobs are up 7.6 million, and part-time jobs have declined by more than 900,000.”

Here's What Obama's 'Part-Time America' Really Looks Like - Derek Thompson - The Atlantic

Reading your analysis makes blood seep out of my ears.

US population in 2009 = 307 million
US population in 2014 = 317 million.

Population increase of 10 million, so Obama can't even create enough jobs to keep pace with population growth.

10 million adults? lol
