To Conservatives: What drives the economy?

In 1980 the top 1% earned 8.5% of total income. In 2007 they earned 23%.

In 1980 the bottom 90% earned 68% of total income. In 2007 they earned 53%.

I see you vomiting all over threads with your complaints about this, so I want to ask you what is your plan to ethnically cleanse the American population back to what it was in 1980? How are you going to do that?

You want to live in the world of 1980 and the economy of 1980, well liberals have really changed America since then, so how are you going to bring back what America used to be?

Liberals did that huh? Who gave amnesty to millions? Which side get's the Biz vote that provides jobs to undocumented AND fight EVERYTHING to stop the abuse?

Grow a brain

The French Revolution comes to mind, the only problem is that someone like him is stupid enough to only go after the Republicans during his massacre because the Democrats aren't responsible for any of those stats that he posts. They're only trying to help the 'little guy', they're not in league with 'the rich' at all. :cuckoo: Partisans are not only stupid enough to believe the lies their masters feed them, but they also don't realize how incredibly stupid it makes them look.

Yeah, it's the Dems fighting ANY tax increase on 'job creators', new regulations, Dubya's regulator failure, etc

CONSERVATIVE POLICY NEVER WORKS ANYWHERE IT'S EVER TRIED, EXCEPT FOR THE 1%ERS. EVER!

How does partisanship help answer the question of wage disparity? Do Conservatives think that wage disparity is a problem? Do Conservatives think that a widening gap between the rich and the middle class is a symptom of a great economy, or does this gap show real problems?

Can capitalism survive if the wealthiest citizens control wealth disproportionate to their numbers? Should 1% control the vast majority of the wealth, or should middle class citizens have a stronger position where wealth control is concerned?

It doesn't answer anything, which is why only denouncing republicans and 'conservatives' for all the ills in this country is not only stupid, it's preposterously wrong. But partisans will never understand that because they're too blinded by their own bigotry and the lies they've been fed.

Neo-Liberalism/Conservatives is/has destroyed the American Economy in favor of the so called "Job Creator"... In reality are "Job Exporters"...

Conservatives/Republicans only seem to have one solution to any problem - make life harder for those on the bottom.

Are you saying that Conservatives will continue to ignore wage disparity because Conservative pundits told them it's no real problem? And Conservatives will continue to believe that Liberals have nothing valid to contribute? And that Liberals will get bogged down in problems solving to their own demise because Conservatives will not entertain any Liberal contributions?

Liberal "contributions" caused all the problems. Why would anyone listen to anything they say. Liberals' solution to wage disparity is to punish higher earners. Conservatives' solution is to encourage economic growth.

Non-Partisan Congressional Tax Report Debunks Core Conservative Economic Theory

The conclusion?

Lowering the tax rates on the wealthy and top earners in America do not appear to have any impact on the nationÂ’s economic growth.

This paragraph from the report says it all—

“The reduction in the top tax rates appears to be uncorrelated with saving, investment and productivity growth. The top tax rates appear to have little or no relation to the size of the economic pie. However, the top tax rate reductions appear to be associated with the increasing concentration of income at the top of the income distribution.”

I sometimes have a hard time thinking like a liberal. I wonder what they believe makes America tick, what made America successful? Is it the air that has some magical quality? Do trees in America give off some special pollen?

How do they imagine that taking a Mexican or a Somalian and plunking them down into America will suddenly transform the human capital embodied within that person into the human capital seen in the Americans who built this nation into something great.

Somalians and Mexicans build Somalia and Mexico. Germans build Germany. The Dutch built, thinking like Obama now, Dutchland. Germany is successful. The Netherlands are successful. They're successful because of the people. Somalia is not successful because of the people. Nothing changes when a person moves across a border into America - that German immigrant brings his human capital with him and passes it on to his children and the Somalian brings his human capital and passes it on to his children.

When we import poverty via immigration, it's entirely expected that this is going to increase income inequality.

If liberals want the income inequality of the 1960s or 1980s then they need to create a population in 2014 which matches the population of America in 1960 or 1980.

It's the people who make a nation, not some magical pollen which floats across the US and is breathed by people and turns them into Americans.

lol

Who do you think CREATED this nation?

Parrots repeat what they hear. The RW media doesn't profit from educating their listeners. They know the money is in saying outrageous things that fit their listeners ideology. The listeners want to be outraged. The RW media produces the outrageous material. Truth not required. It's a symbiotic relationship.

Dad is on crack so ranting is appropriate.
As for you, you get your ass kicked in every thread so you may want to consider shutting up. Obama has been the biggest practitioner of Keyesian economics ever, pouring trillions of dollars in stimulus into the economy, only to achieve the worst results of any recovery post war. It is a failure, a gross expensive failure. And only uninformed dupes like you fall for it.

What drives our economy? Consumer spending or business investment?

If you think consumer spending drives the economy, what would be wrong about putting more disposable income into the hands of the middle class and the poor?

If it's business investment, what would be wrong about making adjustments to the tax code that would discourage outsourcing and off shore tax shelters? Shouldn't American business investment be made in, I don't know, maybe America?

i presume you are asking because you have no ******* clue !! :lmao:

I haven't seen ANYONE in Washington doing any 'problem solving' for years. What they do is engage people like you in this them versus us battle while they sit there term after term exchanging power and doing the exact same thing, NOTHING. And you listen to all of their pitiful excuses of how the 'evil other party' is responsible for them not getting anything done, and it's all bullshit. You have blinders on, and until they come off, all of your attacking of one 'party' over another is just useless blunder and will never resolve anything.

When Conservatives began the Supply Side theory, aka "Trickle Down Economics", how precisely was that supposed to work? Policies that sequestered more wealth among the very rich was supposed to result with the largess of the very rich increasing the opportunity for the majority poor and middle class.

Yet the "trickle" has not happened. The "Supply" portion of the economy went after even more wealth. And today we see the results. Growing wage disparity and lack of middle class opportunity. Things are booming wherever we shipped those middle class jobs to. The executive suite continues to prosper. But Supply Side economic theory has been a bust fro economic growth and middle class wage earners.

The old way of getting wealthy was to invent something or create a new dynamic in manufacturing. That's what spread the wealth around because the wealthy needed labor as much as labor needed them. But today's way of getting rich does not involve anything other than the ability to make a killing in the market.

I ask you, which way of getting wealthy was the more noble way?

Why? It's the Republicans fantasy. YOU explain it. And why you are "explaining" it, throw out some examples of the success of Republican economic fanta......I mean theories.

Hell rabbit, as far as we know, you are still denying that consumer spending drives about 70% of the economy.

You still denying that fact? Makes you a weak sister when it comes to understanding economics.

Where do consumers get the money to spend? What incentivizes businesses to expand, invest, and hire more employees?

Where does the government get its money?

If you have a truthful answer to those questions, you will understand why supply side economics is the ONLY system that has ever worked.

Consumer spending accounts for 70% of the economy. It does not drive the economy. Sorry, Zeke, but your daily purchases of Thunderbird do nothing for economic expansion.

Zeke couldnt even give a non truthful answer. His knowledge base looks like a pin head.
Government gets its money from taxing wealthy people and corporations, who don't pay anything. Consumers get their money from welfare and food stamps. Businesses need to be penalized for not hiring people or holding money.
Seriously that's what he believes.
