I hate to shatter the image of your leader but Trump's tariffs are not being applied in hopes that Chinese will mend their wicked ways.

China is becoming self sufficient by restricting Western businesses selling to China and restricting foreign businesses from operating in China. Xi Jinping told the people some years ago that the China he dreams of is a China where no one will starve and China would no longer be dependent on and other country. China is approaching that goal.

This is also what Donald Trump wants; bringing back industry to America that will make America self sufficient.

I agree with Trump goals but I completely disagree with how he is doing it. He should be sending his plan to congress. And it should be in steps over a 5 year period. That gives business a chance to adjust. They could build tariff increases into their business plans. We would have no stock market crash, no recession, and no trade war.
