This is why there’s been so much extreme rainfall and flooding in the U.S.

No it is your stupidity that screams loudly since far more people die of driving cars than handling nuclear waste.
BULLDOG knows that. His answer is simply yet another scorched earth tactic that translates to "you got me nailed, but I won't admit it so I'll deflect with a smoke screen and run away".

He's a twit.

Not a science problem but a political problem which is why it is still a problem.

France has solved the waste problem by simply reusing the waste to make more fuel rods thus reducing the waste over time.

Dixy Lee Ray pointed this out 50 years ago that is how long ago we knew how to greatly reduce waste and to reduce its radioactivity.
I wasn't aware of that. Reduced amounts of waste is certainly a step in the right direction. However, even with reduced amounts of waste, we are still faced with large amounts with no place to put it but a landfill. I'm sure it would be the most secure landfill in the world, but still just a landfill.

I'm here. Where do you think I ran to? Trying to rate whether driving or nuclear material is the greater risk is absurd. Which do you think would be a greater threat to life, dropping a dirty bomb over New York or driving to the corner store?

The problem is continuous politics and opposition as well shown in this basic Wikipedia LINK shows.

Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository

The Yucca Mountain Nuclear Waste Repository, as designated by the Nuclear Waste Policy Act amendments of 1987, "Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository - Wikipedia" is a proposed deep geological repository storage facility within Yucca Mountain for spent nuclear fuel and other high-level radioactive waste in the United States. The site is on federal land adjacent to the Nevada Test Site in Nye County, Nevada, about 80 mi (130 km) northwest of the Las Vegas Valley.

The project was approved in 2002 by the 107th United States Congress, but the 112th Congress ended federal funding for the site via amendment to the Department of Defense and Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act, passed on April 14, 2011, during the Obama administration. "Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository - Wikipedia" The project has encountered many difficulties and was highly contested by the public, the Western Shoshone peoples, and many politicians. "Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository - Wikipedia" The project also faces strong state and regional opposition."Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository - Wikipedia" The Government Accountability Office stated that the closure was for political, not technical or safety reasons."

Politics always gets in the way which is why the science side of waste handling is always damaged as governments dithers and dithers....., which nuclear science already knows how to transform high level waste into low level waste but that gets blocked by endless politics.

Meanwhile France has no such problem which is why they have a successful nuclear power program.

Small amounts of waste.

I don't agree with them, but lots of TV preachers say tragedies like that are caused by god punishing homosexual behavior.
God uses the weather to punish sin in general.

Civilization exists on cheaper energy. We are not there yet on cleaner lower cost options. The money spent on that has not produced the desired results. Of course, we may have cheaper alternatives that our government may know about. Would the introduction cause the loss of tens of millions of jobs if we had it? A century ago, or longer. Edison or Tesla. Making a dollar. Choices made.

CO2 isn’t pollution. CO2 is a vital component of the carbon cycle for which all life on the planet depends upon.

Sodium, sunlight, water, iron, stress hormones, CO2, and glucose are all vital needs for a healthy life, but each and every one will kill you if you get too much.

How much CO2 do you suppose is fatal?

No. The ice age began ~ 3 million years ago. That’s how little you know.

So why do you think it’s a good idea for the planet to be colder?
Well make up your feeble little mind. Can we have an impact on climate or not? All the cult whining about man having nothing to do with climate change, and now you say we do.

Not the way you think. The direct radiative forcing GHG effect of CO2 is 1C per doubling of CO2. Not 4.5C.

So why do you want the planet to be colder in the middle of an ice age?
