REALLY? So what do you think happens when (I'll keep the numbers small so you can understand them) 3 people need a ventilator but there are only 2 available? What does the hospital do then? They have to decide which patients get the ventilators and which one doesn't. Maybe that last one will live, and maybe that patient will die. Who knows? But make no mistake, hospitals all over the country will be making choices like that in the weeks to come. This is our Brave New World.

Furthermore, the federal government “helping” any state is 100% unconstitutional. The federal government is explicitly restricted to 18 enumerated powers and “helping states” isn’t one of them.

You are comparing rape to a state needing federal assistance in case of emergency? Tell you what. You hate Socialism? Tell me why you think providing ventilators is the responsibility of the government and not that of the hospitals. They're the ones making a profit from it's use?

The final of the enumerated powers in the Constitution reads:

The “Necessary and Proper Clause,” also referred to as the “Elastic Clause,” was added to ensure the government had the authority to deal with any serious issues in exercising the other enumerated powers as they arose. The framers of the Constitution knew it would be impossible to list every single power that the government would need as the world changed.

Because of this, the Necessary and Proper Clause was added at the end of the enumerated powers list. The clause earned the nickname “Elastic Clause,” as it provided the government with a means to stretch beyond its authority if needed.
