Third Party: I could support Rand, Sasse, Nikki Haley. Both Trump and Clinton are not who the country needs.

Off that list Gary Johnson, Paul Ryan and Rand Paul are the only three I would entertain voting for. Rand Paul said no to a third party bid and I believe Ryan also said no, so it leave Gary Johnson for me...

Paul was my favorite.

There isn't going to be a 3rd party.

The pubs are looking pretty feckless right now, but they're not so crazy as to do this, as it would mean certain loss to Hillary.

I also think they had to have seen what happened when they tried to screw Trump out of the nomination despite him winning in the primaries. Basically it pissed people off. Pull another stunt and the result will be the same. They cannot field a third party that will pull enough voters to beat Hillary, as many will vote Trump to spite them if they try and I think they know it.

Trump will say some of what they want to hear and the party establishment will all pretend that the new improved trump is now indeed palatable, when in reality they have no choice and damn well know it.

'3rd Party' = 'Hillary's 2nd Party'

1 Vote for Hillary = 1 Vote for Hillary
1 Vote for 3rd Party = 1 Vote for Hillary

The way Trump has fled into the arms of the GOP establishment in the past few days,

the most appropriate third party that could run now would be one running on what Trump originally stood for.

Third party = Hillary Clinton

Which I suspect is just want you want.

Draft Colin Powell. Sure, he's a bit old, but convince him to give his country one four-year term and get things calmed down.

To conform a little to the o.p., maybe Johnson.

You suspect wrong about me, as usual.

Trump is going to lose. I want another candidate out there that the voting public can see and have four years to think about by 2020.

Not gonna happen. The party elite think they could work with him if he was elected. And there's little chance they will lose the House, and worst case is they'll be able to filibuster court appts.

Jake, face it.

It's time to quit being a Closetcrat and just wear your Democrat Party decoder ring in public.
Henry, face it, I am what I am, a mainstream Republican who is going to part of those who make sure your choice is not elected as President.

If Trump is candidate for the GOP, then Hillary wins with a blue senate. The senate will change the rules so that the pubs cannot filibuster SCOTUS appointments.
