The youth: Is 18 to young to buy a gun?

These kids asked how are how can they be safe going to school? I think your premise is that responsible kids should be arming themselves when going to school...

But if they only have a hand gun and a multiple guys enter with AR-15s, should they not have AR-15s as well (with all the accessories)....

What age should these kids get the guns to protect themselves?
who owns power if a man with a gun walks into a school that has no man with a gun?

Cowboy Ted would be waiting for government to come and protect him while they wait outside for the shooting to be over so then can come in safely and draw a line around his body

You mean like the President

Um ... Trump supports my right to protect myself with a gun. You don't. So your point?

And who said you couldn't...

Reasonable gun laws doesn't mean no guns... Actually I said that leveraging computers can make the whole process quicker and safer...

And that helps the people in Parkland how?

I don't need a gun because I'm neither a hunter nor a *****.

I heard a really good one today on the Morning Answer 560 WIND in Chicago from a text they received from a listener. Why should we genuflect to the young?

I quote, "If you don't want someone 18 years old to have guns or drive, why would you want a 16 or 17 year old to set public policy?

1:13:05 on the podcast for 3/12/2018.

This dude nailed it!!!!

American youth is being placed in minimum security prisons , aka, government schools.

The Criminally insane have found out that they can easily slaughter many of those students because they are DEFENSELESS. You see, the SCUMBAGS in SCOTUS have allowed the Congresscritters to declare government schools to be GUN FREE ZONES .

How then can you say that a 17 year old does not have a right to life and to defend the same?!?!?!?!?!?

Where is a '16 or 17 year old to set public policy'?
on every MSM network.

Let me break the news to you. Politicians set policy....
The 16 or 17 year olds are questioning that policy, which if I remeber properly they are fully entitled to do...

Why do you want to silence young people entering public discussion... How many kids have been killed by public discussion...
because many of them have no logical set up in life. their experiences in such things are throttled by adults. Therefore, i have no desire to listen to anything they have to say unless it is in my family circle, not national. They have no idea every probability that may exist for 300+ Americans. Why send them to school at all if they are that knowledgeable?
Just because someone is not old enough to vote doesn’t take from him his right to petition the government for a redress of grievances, or to otherwise communicate with elected representatives.

And elected officials are at liberty to take into consideration the concerns of minors with regard to decisions of law and public policy.

That this has to be explained to conservatives is further evidence of the right’s collective stupidity.

I think 18 is too young to vote.

If kids were properly educated in school I would disagree, but given the state of K-12 education I can't disagree with you.

K-12 education in this country does just fine for those students who put forth the effort. The problem is those who don't put forth any effort!

Well, everyone here must know by now that I am an unabashed 2nd amendment supporter. However, I do not have any issues with this law. I think the age of everything should be raised to 21 at least though. It's pretty easy to see how immature and thoughtless a lot of teens can be on a regular basis.
so you think an immature person should set policy?

Absolutely not. Is that what I said? I said the age of EVERYTHING should be over 21, IMO.
so it should be 21 for the military as well?

Actually a lot of first world armies don't send under 21s into combat situations.

Oh, really? Do tell!

I carried an M-16 as a 17 year old in the National Guard, and had I been in the regular military in time of war I could have used that weapon to kill our enemies....but now you guys are saying that I can't use a civilian rifle to protect my family at 18?

So elected officials aren’t at liberty to take my considerations but minors they are? Hmm how’s that fking work. Let’s see that legislation

That dude never heard of a man named hitler!

I think it depends on the 18yo. Most of them I wouldn't trust with a rubber band.......then there's a few I'd trust more with a gun than many adults.

Who in their right mind would encourage their 18-year-old son to get married and have kids and move out on his own in today's world? Really? REALLY?

Anyone that has a child mature enough to join the military after graduating high school.

My son married his high school sweetheart 2 days before graduation and 3 weeks before he shipped off to boot camp. She shipped out a month later. Before they ever married, they already owned everything they needed to set up living in an apartment, including the furniture. They both worked hard and spent their money wisely. My granddaughter was born 3 years later after my daughter-in-law miscarried the first time.

I can say that of any age group

What about military service?
I don't think they want you...But you can try to join to get a free rifle or sidearm...no ammo though...

They should put a deposit on ammo. After getting a box when you buy the gun, you have to bring the empties back before getting more, or there's a $20 per bullet refundable deposit. Let's see people try to stock up on thousands of rounds of ammunition that way
Heil Hitler!

ex-post-facto successful Godwining! Drink up!

No rifles, no vote until 21.

How you like them apples, ******?

When I was young, boys got bolt action 22 rifles to go hunting. But that was was before the NRA and the Dupes made guns about fighting the government and being super soldiers and God knows what perversion. So 21 it is...

So they can go to war, but should be stripped of their Constitutional rights? Nope.
