The youth: Is 18 to young to buy a gun?

Only in this retched country can there be such hypocritical double standard where we can send kids into war, have the right to buy a gun, and be responsible for serious crimes, but at the same time, they're not mature enough to drink or buy cigarettes! Makes sense to crazy people I guess! :102: :21: :4_13_65: :47: :agree:

I was trying to stay with you on this one, but what does "be responsible for serious crimes" mean in your list? You're saying that's legal or illegal or what?
even 16 year olds can be charged as an adult.

I get that. What I don't get is how that relates to the rest of the list.

Is he arguing that you shouldn't be charged as an adult until you are 18? That would be insane.

Note I'm not bashing his post, I only asked about that one point. To me it didn't relate to the others

The same people who think 18 is too young to buy a gun think 13 is old enough to have sex and get an abortion without telling mom.
They think 16 is old enough to dictate gun control policy.
They think 8 or 9 is old enough to learn about trannies and anal sex.

If that doesn't set off huge red flags, then nothing will.

Leftists are imbeciles. They need locked up.
I didn't even think that. I'm glad I started this thread now.

yes, that is how I took it. However, I'm not sure he's saying they shouldn't, instead looking at the insanity of what we do as a country that is inconsistent with thought.

I heard a really good one today on the Morning Answer 560 WIND in Chicago from a text they received from a listener. Why should we genuflect to the young?

I quote, "If you don't want someone 18 years old to have guns or drive, why would you want a 16 or 17 year old to set public policy?

1:13:05 on the podcast for 3/12/2018.

This dude nailed it!!!!
18 is plenty old enough to buy firearms…

Kids can get life or the death penalty in this country for serious crimes like kidnapping, carjacking, or murder! :1041: :aargh:

even 16 year olds can be charged as an adult.

That's why I call them kids! Some states think nothing of trying them as adults when they're far from it; even if as evil as FK! :19:

Eighteen is too young to buy a gun. A chronic paranoid schizophrenic is too mentally ill to buy a gun. An Alzheimer's patient is too old. Blacks in the inner city cannot be allowed to own guns. We can't let the spics or faggots own guns, either. Gang-"affiliated" men can't be allowed to own guns.

People who have "renounced" their U.S. citizenship cannot be allowed to own guns, which is very odd, because there is no provision in the U.S. Constitution for "renouncing" citizenship -- to wit, "All persons born or naturalized in the United States are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside." You can curse and swear all you want, but according to the Constitution, once a citizen, always a citizen.

"Second Amendment, don't tread on us, and all that, but fuckin' shit, you can't let just anyone own a gun!"

Do you see where this is coming from and where it is going?

Fair enough.

I agree in discussing rights and privileges versus responsibilities. Rights meaning constitutional rights (gun ownership, ...). Privileges meaning things like driving a car. Responsibilities meaning things like the draft.

To me, committing crimes is not related to rights, responsibilities and privileges of citizenship. That is having your rights and privileges removed for violating the rights of others

If you harm other citizens and violate their rights, you deserve to have your rights restricted. That's another subject

Good.

But committing crimes and violating the rights of other citizens is a different subject. We're talking about the rights, privileges and responsibilities of every citizen. Not citizens who chose to infringe on the rights of others. A completely different subject

Which makes little to no sense when it's a victimless crime making it more a problem trying to restrict use! Make it legal like drinking and moderate it's use! Ruining people's lives for smoking a joint is just plain stupid and in my day the stigma of any drug use got you canned from jobs, whole professions, and even living accommodations! Anything dealing with children is the only crime I have no sympathy for the perpetrator! I don't want to hear "I couldn't help myself!" :1041: :14: :agree:

Woman injured in 2nd explosion in Austin on Monday, EMS says

12:09 p.m Monday, March 12, 2018 News
The incident marks the second reported explosion in the city on Monday and the third in two weeks.

An explosion earlier in the day in the 4800 block of Oldfort Hill Drive in East Austin killed a 17-year-old and injured a woman described as in her 40s.

Hours after that incident, interim Austin Police Chief Brian Manley said that explosion appeared similar and likely related to another explosion in Northeast Austin on March 2.

Authorities on Monday also warned residents against taking suspicious packages inside their homes.

well, now packages kill 17 year old kids. time to turn in the postal worker, he/she dropped it off.

It's like you are telling me that I have no right to defend myself because some loon shot up a school, and I have to rely on the government to come and rescue me if I am in a bad situation? How can you NOT see that as a TOTAL VIOLATION of a natural human right? All of you who want to remain defenseless, by all means, go ahead. You cannot force other people to join you.

As long as one is over 18?

18 years old is still a child today. All you have to do is observe a group of 18-year-old boys (and I emphasize BOYS) and it is clear.
have you looked at the millions of 18 year olds that have been drafted over the course of our country and how hundreds of thousands have died defending our country? You really think they looked different? what a shame.

Yeah, we can give them weapons and teach them to kill cleanly and efficantly, but no, no beer, no guns, but you can sit there and make policy with your vote. You can do that. We can also tax your wages to pay social security you will never get to collect, but no, no guns and no shooting sports for you until 21.

For one thing Cigarettes and alcohol are more of a killer in this country! Stats show in other countries that drug use actually went down when they were legalized! My favorite country is The Netherlands, and Amsterdam in particular that allowed people to make their own decisions to use or not to use and overdoses went drastically down due to legalization! :113:

They're fine with blacks in the inner cities and illegals owning guns.
They just don't want the people they victimize to be able to defend themselves.
