Oil is predominantly priced and traded in USD.We control the oil. We can make the price go up or down, and destroy entire economies, if we see fit.

You'd have 88 million people in cities with no power, no water, no food supply chain. Mass casualties from infrastructure collapse alone before you count direct deaths from the strikes themselves.

Yeah, it's part of their '1953' narrative in which the USA figures as the world's most evil empire and that Iran is just trying to survive in a world that just misunderstands them.Make up stories much?
How was the USA arming Iraq and selling them the means to make chemical and biological weapons benevolent? Other than the profits made by US and our Allies companies that is. It was certainly malevolent for Iran during the war, and then Iraq when we used the very weapons we supplied them with, as a pretext to invade. How many people were killed by that policy decision?

If we were very restrained, we would have used other means, rather than going to war, against and "imminent" threat, that could not be imminent for years to come.
Feel free to show where I've ever claimed we must be perfect all the time. My claim is that we have not been as benevolent or benign in our interventions as some like to say, not that we have to be perfect all the time.
It only took about 47 yrs of negotiations to get fed up and attempt to affe t change.
Learn to get along with the neighbors (or let them be) is the moral of that story.//
Let's bomb the people we claim we want to liberate!
Great idea!

Trump had the right idea... money unifies everybody.... Except maybe the crazy assholes running Iran.... Even then give them enough corporate exposure and the money will overcome the fundamentalism.JOOOOOOOSSSSS
Right now most of the Arab States are coming around to accepting Israel.
Iran is a far worse threat to them.
/ thread.
Ronnie Rayguns' administration, through the Bear Spare program, supplied Iraq with spare parts for their Russian made military equipment. That was the covert beginning of our support for the "Butcher of Baghdad".Make up stories much?
You are another person that thinks lack of any violence is peace, when peace is actually the resolution of conflict.
That's a fairytale. When you bomb other counties, when you meddle in other countries, you create the problems, and that doesn't cause people to like you, you create new generations of radicals. And that's not even mentioning that nearly every war is based on lies or false flags. You folks really need to turn off the TV, you're continually being lied to. Massie got it right:

So I'll take that as a "no" you can't back up yer BS.That is the general line of logic followed by idiots like you.
It's theater for you rubes. A diversion away from Trump's total domestic failures and from his Epstein coverup.
Iran has never been a threat to the US.
That’s what the Israelis want.We want the good Iranians to take control and the crazy Jihadis to settle down.
Creating a "failed state" with 92,000,000 refugees is the worst option.
So I'll take that as a "no" you can't back up yer BS.
In 1982 the Raygum administration remove Iraq from the nations who support terrorism, which opened the door for our allies to sell US technology and transfer weapons to Iraq to use against Iran.Bullshit!
"Iraq obtained material for weapons of mass destruction (WMD) largely through foreign, mainly European and Soviet, support in the 1970s and 80s. Key suppliers included West German firms (chemical precursors/equipment), France (nuclear technology/uranium), and suppliers from the UK and USSR
.
Key Sources of Material and Technology:
- Chemical Weapons: West German firms supplied over 1,000 tons of precursors for mustard gas, sarin, and tabun, along with building production facilities (e.g., "Falluja 2").
- Nuclear Weapons: France supplied enriched uranium and helped build a nuclear power plant, while the USSR assisted with earlier, smaller research reactors.
- Biological Weapons: In the 1980s, German firms provided equipment to produce toxins like anthrax, botulin, and mycotoxin.
- Support: These programs were often disguised as civilian projects, such as pesticide plants."
