Projection is a dangerous thing. Of course there's a bunch of parasites out there, but projecting that onto every Obama/democrat voter is dangerous and stupid. Assuming you get out from time to time, you probably interact with numerous democrats in a friendly manner every day. My aunt, who always votes democrat and who sits right next to me at work, has worked her ass off for our company for over 12 years. She's not union and whole lot more frugal then me. She's always one of the first ones to ask if i need a hand with anything. She's a great, great person (along my uncle and their whole family).

In sports, or warfare, debate, or anything really, there are two keys to being able to defeat your enemy/opponent.

1. Respect. If you think your opponent is know-nothing, unprepared, unskilled, unorganized idiot, then you're probably mistaken and you're not going to be able to prepare as you should. If you're at war, assume the enemy's best weapon is a slingshot and they aim a missile at you, you're not going to be prepared.
2. Understanding who they are. A sports reference is a good one. If a football team runs the ball really well for a specific reason and you can understand and identify that reason, then you've got a much better chance at stopping it and thus putting yourself in a better position to win.

The right win has it's fair share of idiots. Plenty of right0wingers collect welfare and you probably hate when the left tries to personify all republican voters as white crazy racist gun toting bible thumping bigots. You know that's not true, so why assume (or pretend) the reverse is true?

Progressives, like Barack Obama, see government as the solution to all problems when in fact it's usually the opposite...excessive government is what has caused the problem. When Obama took billions in tax dollars and spent them on propping up the public sector what did he accomplish towards growing new jobs? The answer to that, quite simply, is that he accomplished nothing. He temporarily kept people in the public sector employed using borrowed monies. So what jobs are a progressive agenda giving us? What jobs are being created that are self sustaining without billions in government aid propping them up?

More importantly...what part of a progressive agenda shrinks the deficit? You've built a house of cards with deficit spending that can only continue to stand with MORE deficit spending. What is there in a progressive agenda that ends that?

But the fact is, the right does need to change. For one we need to stop descending to their level and calling them names like Dumbocrats or anything else completely immature. We can't persuade people to support us when we insult them. They will never seriously consider changing their position on anything if they are treated unkindly. And there is no reason for us to treat people unkindly. Our issues are correct. We can articulately argue those positions or we can name call. We are much better articulating those positions.

We need to be humble. The right and the left have too much pride and if we don't change our ways, we will destroy ourselves. I don't care whether you say it's judgment from God or simply the consequences of our actions. We need to change our choices so we can change those consequences. Otherwise, there is lots of death and suffering in our future.
