The trade war with China is over. China won.

The trade war is over — and China won (link)

The only results of all this is that Americans will continue to pay 25% more for Chinese goods.
Americans aren't paying 25% more for consumer goods, in fact, inflation isn't even hitting the Fed's targets.

I don't understand why, given what a dirty filthy producer China is, the Left carries water for the Chi-Coms on every US/China disagreement.

BUT PLASTIC-STRAW BANS LET BUSYBODIES FEEL GOOD ABOUT THEMSELVES: International researchers estimate that as much as 73 percent of the garbage in the Atlantic Ocean originates from Chinese merchant vessels, Canada’s National Post reported on Tuesday.

Trump needs to keep ramping up the tariffs until China cleans up ALL this plastic they just toss over the rails of their merchant ships like the ocean is their own personal toilet.

So, Trump raises your taxes by 25%, but it doesn't cost you anything.

Only a Trumpette would believe that.
He didn't raise our taxes, he placed tariffs on the goods. If the US Consumer isn't seeing tariff driven inflation, the US Consumer is not paying these tariffs. A look at the Producers Index shows no unusual inflation either, ergo, CHINA is paying these tariffs by reducing their prices. And that's their choice. They can either treat us fairly and quit stealing from us, or they can pay more in tariffs. So far, they are choosing to pay the tariffs, but, Trump continues to help them find their price point.

Why should Trump let them steal from us for nothing if they are willing to pay to steal from us?

The price of the washer and dryer I was buying went up $200, with that much more going to the federal government, than before, and you don't think that Trump has raised my taxes?

Rave on, Zorro….
Some things go up but they are offset by things that go down. On the net, consumer inflation is not an issue.

Trump ramped up tariffs in mid 2018 and the chart below shows how inflation has responded.

Consumer price inflation simply has not become an issue.

Ok. What you are saying is that nobody in America is paying for the billions of dollars that Trump is collecting on Tariffs. Like some other guy who posted here a couple of weeks ago, you believe that tariffs don't cost us anything. Maybe because the Chinese traders have more than a 30% profit margin with which to absorb the cost of tariff's themselves. Meantime, the demand for automobiles has softened to the point of severe distress of American manufactures, and GM has declared that the cost of tariffs has cost them $1 billion and is responsible for 14,000 layoffs. Just how good is that Kool-Aid that you are drinking?

The article you link to points out that GM says its closing these plants because there is little demand for the Chevrolet Cruze, which is built at the Ohio plant, and an overall strategic shift towards more popular crossover and SUV models.

Consumers aren't paying the tariffs, there is no tariff driven inflation at the consumer level. There are also no signs of inflation at the wholesale level, which leaves our foreign suppliers covering the tariffs by lowering their prices.

China could have avoided these tariffs by agreeing to quit stealing our technology, but, they chose to go with the tariffs instead. But, Trump's still helping them find their price point, we would like them to stop stealing our technology.

If they willing to pay 25% in tariffs to steal our intellectual property, why are we obligated to let them steal it for free?

You are quoting an expectation, and one that has been falsified.

So, the memtally ill president has gone from "trade warscare very easy to win" to licking China's butt and sending them congratulatory letters on 70 years of brutal communist rule.

Fucking loser.

Actually, my source has not been "falsified" at all, Z, except in your own mind. The same thing is happening to all industries that use steel, and aluminum, while there has been no change in the production numbers of either, in this country. The retaliation against the farmers is a crushing blow. Walmart is raising prices noticeably. Manufacturers are moving more production out of the country to avoid paying the tariffs. The DOW is sinking a little more every week, and has a big drop every time the China trade talks fall apart, which is going to continue to happen, because China is not going to agree to anything while Trump is in office.

Actually, my source has not been "falsified" at all, Z,...
It most certainly has. Just as you are currently parroting, we were assured by "experts" that tariffs would lead to sharp rises in consumer inflation rates. The exact opposite has occurred.
... The DOW is sinking a little more every week...
The DOW's up a 141 points today. It's up over 2,000 points since Trump ramped up up tariffs in mid 2018.
...China is not going to agree to anything while Trump is in office.
If they won't agree to quit stealing from us and flooding our country with dangerous and deadly drugs, they are going to have pay increased tariffs, so far, they would rather pay the tariffs, but, Trump is helping them search for their price point.

If they are willing to pay 25% tariffs in order to flood our streets with fentanyl and steal our intellectual property, why should Trump let them do it for free?

Market Watch is a not a reliable economic news site? Says who, Trump? And you actually believe anything that Trump says?Trump is suddenly a "stable economic genus" who lost $10 billion in 9 years? Tariff's aren't taxes? Most of our prescription drugs are manufactured in China, and they should stop sending drugs to us?

Keep tilting at windmills. Z. Trump's unequaled "wisdom" is going to change the world economic order, any day now. Hell, he has already dramatically increases Brazil's agricultural GDP, at the expense of our own.

I don't see anything indicating that this stuff is manufactured in the USA. But, it would not matter to me, one way or the other. I buy the most economical products of the best quality, wherever they are made. That is how free enterprise and capitalism works. Artificially manipulating the economy with tariffs it something that they have always done in the Soviet Union. Propping up the agricultural industry is also a socialist process. Suddenly, Republicans are gung-ho on socialist economics. Didn't work.

Of course it doesn't matter to you because you hate Americans.

.

Be sure to let me know if you can think of anything relevant and verifiable to say.

Tick tock tick tock

What's it been 24 hours now and you still don't know how to research the truth?

Once again monkey Bush Jr and Obama murdered American citizens with out a trial ..

Does that scare you to know the truth?

Abdulrahman al-Awlaki - Wikipedia

Abdulrahman Anwar al-Awlaki (born al-Aulaqi; 26 August 1995 – 14 October 2011) was a 16-year-old American of Yemeni descent who was killed while eating dinner at an outdoor restaurant in Yemen by a drone airstrike ordered by U.S. President Barack Obama on 14 October 2011.[2][3][4][5] Abdulrahman al-Awlaki's father, Anwar al-Awlaki, was alleged to be an operational leader of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.[6]Anwar was killed by a CIA drone strike[7]also ordered by Obama two weeks prior to the killing of his son.

View attachment 267577

Anwar al-Awlaki was targeted because he hatched a plan to blow up a plane over Detroit in 2009, and he was killed in Yemen in 2011.
"It was al-Awlaki's direct personal involvement in the continued planning and execution of terrorist attacks against the U.S. homeland — that made him a lawful target and led the United States to take action," Attorney General Eric Holder later said.
There were 6 drone strikes and they all got who they targeted. Unfortunately in war there is collateral damage

If the story is true then is son's death was a mistake.

is it because of his fathers actions or was it Obama's fault because he gave the order

Fast forward to the children deaths in detention centers, is it Trump's fault as this was his order to separate and hold them there and now has the responsibility to ensure their safety

Still there are those who want to blame the parents.

Standing on a moral ground is like standing on a shaky stool with a noose around your neck

China is flooding our streets with Fentanyl, hacking our State Department, bribing our politicians, stealing our intellectual property and using their trade surplus with us to build carrier busters, with sinking our carriers in mind.

They are still doing all this, and still making you cheap products, while now paying $BILLIONS to the US Treasury in order to retain access to our consumer base.

Trump's upsetting their illicit apple cart and they are very unhappy about it. They would remove him from office if they could.

You don't have a problem with China making most of our drugs? They're the damn enemy.

I am sure that Trump has convinced you that China is your enemy. As for me, I have never suffered any problems with China. In fact,. I sincerely appreciate China making many products that I buy at extremely affordable prices,
China is flooding our streets with Fentanyl, hacking our State Department, bribing our politicians, stealing our intellectual property and using their trade surplus with us to build carrier busters, with sinking our carriers in mind.

They are still doing all this, and still making you cheap products, while now paying $BILLIONS to the US Treasury in order to retain access to our consumer base.

If they are willing to pay $Billions to access our markets, why should we let them access it for free?

Sounds like the problem is not China so much, as it is the people who buy illegally sold drugs and politicians who accept bribes. Here is an interesting factoid for you. The Roosevelt family, especially on Elinor's side, got rich in the 18th century selling opium to the Chinese.

It most certainly has. Just as you are currently parroting, we were assured by "experts" that tariffs would lead to sharp rises in consumer inflation rates. The exact opposite has occurred.
The DOW's up a 141 points today. It's up over 2,000 points since Trump ramped up up tariffs in mid 2018.

That is always the case with bribery, there is a briber and a bribee.

Trump's given them a choice, either treat us with the respect a good customer deserves or pay $Billions in tariffs, so far they chose $Billions in tariffs. But they have shoveled $Billions into Biden's Family "investments" and while Biden looked like the front runner, they wouldn't agree to a fair deal, and Trump kept ramping up the tariffs.

fredgraph.png

Now Biden has crashed as the front runner, taken out by his own folks posing as Whistle Blowers, who were aiming at Trump and instead destroyed the crook they were trying to protect and China has realized that Trump will be re-elected and that Trump will continue ramping up tariffs, and finally the Chinese are making deals that will benefit ALL Americans, though it will leave China with less money to buy off the American Left, so the Left has a problem with that.
