China called that idiot's bluff. That's what happened.
China dropped their tariffs on US goods to 10% and Trump dropped the China tariff to 30% while talks continue...Maybe you do. There is no deal.
Nope.Day late and a dollar short, ace. China just signed a new deal. All on Trump's terms. DOW futures already up 418 for Monday. The greatest negotatior in the world wins another one!
China was within two weeks of a full revolt and bankruptcy.Trump backed down from his owned fucked-up tariffs...PERIOD.
China called this idiot's bluff.
Is that how China now has lower tariffs on our goods and we have higher ones on theirs?Nope.
Someone finally explained to Trump he was going to cause a recession, and the Democrats would sweep the House and Senate, ending his dictatorship.
The greatest idiot in the world just caved on his idiotic far left protectionist war.
Your delusions are quite comical.
Except you didn't say whether your product went through the port of LA.
It's killing you that Trump's tariffs are doing EXACTLY what he told you they would do...doesn't it, Doc? LOLWrong again. Trump backed down and got nothing from China.
Trump can't claim victory when he cancelled his own fucked up tariffs and got no concessions from China in return.
Honestly I don't know if it did come thru LA or Seattle. My original post in this thread mentioned the OP was late to this game, because of another thread saying the same damn thing about Seattle ports. And again, the ports are not as empty as your media keeps trying to lead you to believe.
No ships, no containers, nothing going on.
I bet all those people who work there think trade wars are great.
Hitting other ports too.

Huge decline at L.A. port is a hit to truckers—and a stark warning of coming tariff damage
Los Angeles is already experiencing a huge drop-off, and truckers in other cities will soon be hit, too.fortune.com

Your evidence that the ports are still open is that you received one item, which might not have gone through the ports at all.
That's not a good argument.
"U.S. representatives sound alarm over slowing port activity"
"Three Democratic U.S. representatives for California visited the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach on Friday to voice their concerns after President Trump told reporters that the slowdown of activity at the ports was "a good thing.""
Well, not just the media, but also Congressmen and women.

Ports of LA, Long Beach already seeing 44% drop in docked vessels
As fewer products arrive in Southern California, consumers could see empty shelves in the next couple of months.www.nbclosangeles.com
"Ports of LA, Long Beach already seeing 44% drop in docked vessels"
Not empty, but nearly half the number of ships docking.
No shortages of anything critical noted in our area.Pure insanity. Get ready to see a bunch of empty Walmart shelves throughout the country....and even MAGA idiots in places like Alabama and South Carolina and Idaho will know Trump is to blame for their finanical hardship.
There is no way in hell this is going to end well for Trump or any of his brainwashed, imbecile MAGA followers who are actually stupid enough to believe these fucking tariffs are going to have any positive impact on this country.
From the Washington Post --
The number of shipping containers that arrived at the nation’s top container port last week was roughly one-third lower than during the same period last year — a sharper decline than during the depths of the Great Recession. More than one-fifth of the giant ships that were scheduled to call in Los Angeles this month have already canceled, and that number is expected to rise.
Trump’s 145 percent tariffs on Chinese goods — and Beijing’s triple-digit retaliation — are bringing a swift halt to the trans-Pacific flow of electronics, clothing, furniture, industrial parts and everything else that the world’s two largest economies exchange.
“I can’t imagine our government spending another 30 days in the current environment. I don’t think it’s sustainable. I don’t think the consumer is going to be able to put up with it. I’m not sure there’s going to be enough on the shelves for people to buy in another 60 or 90 days,” said Joseph Gregorio Jr., chief operating officer of the Pacific Companies, a provider of trucking, storage and cargo-handling services.
As U.S. and Chinese negotiators met in Switzerland over the weekend for talks aimed at cooling trade tensions, dockworkers were working fewer hours. Truckers who haul containers full of goods to and from the port have begun handing their keys to the bank rather than making payments on surplus vehicles.
After rising in April by about 5.5 percent, L.A.’s container imports this month are expected to plunge by 25 percent. The abrupt adjustment playing out here offers a glimpse of the costs involved in moving from a global trading system that the president says routinely cheated Americans to the “Golden Age” he promises.
You posted a source. You need to make an argument with it. Not just post it and expect me to know why you posted it.Port of LA activity report..........

If you looked at the link provided, you'd see there is still plenty of activity at the port terminals. But like you said, maybe not full capacity. Though those numbers change daily, even hourly
The argument of this thread is that the media is saying 'empty'. I'm not saying they are full capacity either, I AM saying there is still plenty of imports and exports going on.
How much of the media is saying "empty"?

la ports empty - Bing
Intelligent search from Bing makes it easier to quickly find what you’re looking for and rewards you.www.bing.com
I did a search of "LA ports empty" and only one on the first page used the term "empty" and that said "empty shelves coming".
Here's CNN with "LA ports empty"
The only relevant one said "zero ships leaving China for the US"....
So, I'm not really sure where you're getting the idea that the MEDIA is saying "empty".
Your TDS makes you look like a fool.Nope.
Someone finally explained to Trump he was going to cause a recession, and the Democrats would sweep the House and Senate, ending his dictatorship.
The greatest idiot in the world just caved on his idiotic far left protectionist war.
So, someone write a thread about it being empty. Then someone else writes one that says it's not empty.Excuse me, the empty port thread was Creepers from last week that I had linked to earlier in this stupid argument......that said the Port of Seattle was empty........it wasn't.
This thread's media source is saying LA port traffic is down by a third and expected to get worse..........even in your own search is saying 'empty shelves coming' and 'zero ships leaving China for the US'.
Which is all now a bogus story as negotiations ensue and currently tariffs are either reduced or on hold. Another big nothing burger
.Pure insanity. Get ready to see a bunch of empty Walmart shelves throughout the country....and even MAGA idiots in places like Alabama and South Carolina and Idaho will know Trump is to blame for their finanical hardship.
.If this is going to be the end of the united states as we know it..then it should raise some eyebrows as to why we are dependant so much on other countries.
