The south won't rise again; U.S. Judge Strikes Down Texas’s Strict Photo Voter-ID Law! WHEEE!

"U.S. District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos..."

Say's it all right there... some freakin' taco bender mexican activist judge looking out for illegal aliens over legal American citizens. Guarantee it won't last.

A minority judge appointed by a minority President making a decision benefiting minorities and anyone questions that home cooking didn't take place.
An "illegal alien" minority at that.

This is more fascist leftist judicial anarchy from the bench. These judges should be arrested for treason.

A federal judge struck down Texas’s restrictive photo voter-identification law and Republican lawmakers’ most recent attempt at fixing it, finding neither version corrects provisions that intentionally make it harder for poor and minority citizens to vote.

“Not one of the discriminatory features” of Texas’s original photo ID law “is fully ameliorated by the terms” of the measure Texas lawmakers passed earlier this year, U.S. District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos of Corpus Christi said in the ruling Wednesday.

Furthermore, the 2017 version of the voter ID law “trades one obstacle to voting with another -- replacing the lack of qualified photo ID with an overreaching affidavit threatening severe penalties for perjury,” Ramos said.

:thewave:

What else would you expect from a minority judge appointed by a minority President? That decision was more predictable than the winner of a majority minority Congressional district.

GOP strategy for decades is trying to stop black and brown people from voting.
Clearly, they know the growth in GOP voters is negative. As Obama won by 9.1M
more votes in 2008 and by 6M in 2012. Think about it.
Recall, One Republican in Pennsylvania even publicly admitted that

Black and Brown people cant get photo ID's whats the excuse? no one is that fucking helpless.

Go look up the voter ID laws in Mexico, then get back to us. well actually, Photo ID's are a requirement in Mexico to vote. So what are the Moron Democrats trying to tell us? that countries like Mexico are trying to stop Black and Brown people from voting? or that American black and Brown people are retarded and dont know how to get one?
Or is it that they want it as easy as possible for non- legal residents to vote?

MOD NOTE:

Multiple threads merged.

Make sure there aren't already threads on a subject before you start a new one.

Apparently not. Wonder if the judge realizes that white people are subject to the same laws. Or cares.

seriously think that's going to be the end of it?

Well, it goes to SCOTUS, maybe? But they keep cutting them down. So will they hear it?
I think not.

even if SCOTUS overturns it, what make you think a new, 'improved' bill won't be submitted?

"Does Texas law allow you to shoot a protester if you see him or her defacing a Confederate statue? A Texas man claiming to be a police academy instructor says the answer is yes."

:wtf::uhh::cuckoo: Crazy Killer Cops!

Texas Penal Code 9.43 clearly states the private property being protected with deadly force needs to be "tangible and moveable." A statue doesn't meet that qualification either.

Perhaps you should look up the definition of tangible. Are you saying the statue isn't something that can be touched?

While you're at it, look up the definition of movable. A synonym is transportable. By definition it means something that can be moved.

Since the statue can be touched, it's tangible. Since you whiners cried about those statues to the point a bunch of pussies on local governing bodies pandered to you and reMOVED those statues, they fit the definition of movable. What that means is according to Texas Penal Code 9.43 is that deadly force CAN be used to protect that property.
Tangible, refer to personal property here.
The shit traitor statue do not meet the standard.

By definition, tangible means it can be touched. Are you saying the statue can't be touched?

Are you saying the statue can't be moved? You do know it doesn't have to move on it's own to fit the definition of movable. It simply has to be able to be moved.

Nope. tangible personal property per law.

Texas Penal Code 9.43
A person is justified in using force or deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property of a third person if, under the circumstances as he reasonably believes them to be, the actor would be justified under Section 9.41 or 9.42 in using force or deadly force to protect his own land or property and:

(1) the actor reasonably believes the unlawful interference constitutes attempted or consummated theft of or criminal mischief to the tangible, movable property; or

(2) the actor reasonably believes that:

(A) the third person has requested his protection of the land or property;

(B) he has a legal duty to protect the third person's land or property; or

(C) the third person whose land or property he uses force or deadly force to protect is the actor's spouse, parent, or child, resides with the actor, or is under the actor's care.

Clearly..under Section 9.41 or 9.42 . Shooting them is NOT justified.
PENAL CODE CHAPTER 9. JUSTIFICATION EXCLUDING CRIMINAL RESPONSIBILITY

:oops-28:Again, this IS Public Property. Sorry, no wall trophy for you.

It's not accident that fourteen out of the twenty states the Hildebeast won had no voter ID laws...."Vote early, vote often" is the mantra of the communist leftists.

The question begs...why do dems fear voter ID?

Mehh. It will be overturned in the Supreme Court. As well as everything the traitorous 9th Circuit Court even ruled on. All we have to do is watch and wait, the rats will never know what hit them.

Interesting how you jump from referencing private property to public property when you're proven wrong.

Any government official asking for ID in America sounds like "papers please".

American's DNA rejects that shit outright.

Make them free. That way no one can say they are being discriminated against because they were poor or in a minority.

My state did that very thing several years ago. They were free AND the people needing one were offered a ride to get it. Out of the approximate 170,000 identified as not having one meeting the new law, 25 took the offer. Sad part is people still complained that it was disenfranchising them. Sorry, being a lazy piece of shit doesn't mean you're being cheated. It means you're a lazy POS.

Lower courts get over turned in higher courts all the time..........another Supreme Court ruling..................

Enjoy your moment of happiness OP.........it will not last.

TRUE STORY! Two years ago I worked for a company that provided the feeder/folder/mail inserting equipment for company that had a state contract to send out mailings for an entitlement program in Texas called "Texas Health Steps". We provided the equipment that sent out the mailers and they were in English and Spanish and they also provided a voter registration card for every person inquiring about applying for the program. I took the liberty of reading one of them and found that if they applied for benefits that their immigration status would not be an issue and after the initial interview? That they would be turned over to a counselor to inform them as to what other programs they would qualify for. They even offered debit cards to provide gas so that they could come to one of their offices.....but the one thing that REALLY stood out to me was the voter registration cards written in English and "Espanol".
