No, the way it's ranted about is over the top. I showed ID to get into a show I went to last weekend. I showed some ID when I wrote a check for my rent. Matter of fact, I showed ID when I got this place before I paired rent. So if showing ID to vote is racist and dis advantages the poor, then asking an adult who shows up to a school to pick up a child is racist and disadvantages the poor. Normal people have a state issued ID. Most states will issue ID for very cheap and even for free. The only reason you don't want voter ID laws is because you want illegals to vote.

People live their entire lives without a govt issued photo ID....

My Mother in law, got her first govt issued photo id in her mid 70's when she learned to drive...she lived her entire life without a gvt issued photo id, until then.... and she had bank accounts, bought a home, worked in a City Hospital....

You young ones, seem to think that govt issued photo id's are and have always been necessary in order to live here....when this is simply not the case....only since 9/11 have things changed and gvt issued photo id's have become a necessity for anyone young trying to establish themselves....

my first driver's license had no photo on it, my first bank account was gotten without a govt issued photo id, my first job was gotten without a gvt issued photo id, my first home was bought without a govt issued photo id....

we are no longer the land of the free, but that does not mean it was always this way....

No, not really. See, at the school where my girl go's they go to great length to make sure that only authorized adults are picking up the children. Same thing for voting. You show ID to got to be sure that only leagl citizens vote. Very simple, I mean, it is the law right ?

I lost my license last year, and it has been a pain in the butte.
My passport saved me a few times..

I could not rent a car on a trip , but I found a company that looked up my number on the database

Now a days if you get money out of a bank you need an ID ( unless if you use a debit card..)

If you go to the airport, you need an ID..not sure if it has to be a government issued one..

I can't remember if I needed an ID at the Emergency Room..

America used to be so trusting especially in the 70's and 80's, I agree... so I can see how you could go through life like your MIL

Not only a as it under lock and key in a glass cabinet, but the store guy had to carry it to the check out where I was asked to produce ID. So is spray paint is important enough to card a guy over, why ain't voting on out commander and chief law makers and judges elections important enough to require ID?

when someone registers to vote, and the State is suppose to vet their applicants, is when the vetting of being a citizen or not, or being a felon still on parole or not, should happen....

WHY OH WHY should anyone not a citizen be registered in the first place? Why should they be on the State approved voter roll if they are not a citizen?

States should vet their registrants when applying by checking e-verify, for their citizenship....and they should not approve non citizens to even make it on to the voter roll rosters.

Voter id at the polling place is NOT where this should be done.... even illegals have govt issued photo ids.....also at that point they are already on the voter roll and can vote absentee ballot, without an id.
