Try to follow along. We saw the cop kneeling on the man’s neck. We saw a rescue worker try to get the cop off the man’s neck. We know it lasted too damn long.
But if it wasn’t the cause of death, then it wasn’t the cause of death. And if that’s the scenario, convicting the cop a “murder” would be simply wrong, under the law.
I believe that cop deserves to be convicted for what he actually did that day; but not for murder if his behavior wasn’t the proximate cause of Floyd’s death.
