Zone1 The real secret of Jewish success.

Mostly it's about money lending. Jews became rich, were able to become more educated and they've moved on from that.
True story. When I was young, I perused a book titled, "How To Get Rich". The gist of it was that one must 'eat, drink, and sleep money'. Forego everything else. I closed the book and never sought such advice again. There's more to life than money. That said everyone should strive to become financially secure.

What's this got to do with anything?

Many if not most people have other things to do than spend every waking hour pursuing money.
Who says being successful and well-off means you spend every waking hour pursuing money? I know plenty of people who started in the working class and ended up quite wealthy.

They also traveled, had season tickets to the theater, went to see the Orioles play, enjoyed eating out, took classes in the evening “just to learn,” etc.

Sure, there are many Jews who enjoy those things. I had a Jewish roommate who took a low paying job out of college, joined the National Guard, enjoyed partying, etc. However, his fiancé was from a wealthy Jewish family and as soon as he would marry her his life would change drastically. In the meantime, he was going to enjoy what we gentiles enjoy.

Who says Jews (I didn’t know you were talking about just Jews) have to take low-paying jobs to enjoy life?

Both my father and uncle were engineers, and my siblings and cousins are a CPA, a pharmacist, a doctor, two executives, and a rocket scientist. They also go on great trips and cruises, eat out at fine restaurants, go to shows (my NY cousins go to Broadway and my DC siblings go to the Kennedy Center), two live near the water and have their own boats that they enjoy on weekends, and so on.

Your insulting implication that Jews are successful because they spend every waking money chasing the almighty dollar is noted.

The simple fact is that they are intelligent enough to major in lucrative fields, and succeed in them.

The poor think about how they're going to pay their bills, not about how they're going to get rich.
The poor should have taken Pell Grants and got some job training. I blame the parents for instilling such poor values.

Most poverty is self-inflicted (been there, done that).

Well we finally agree on something.

Are you willing to admit that the children of the impoverished, uneducated Jewish immigrants around the turn of the century ended up educated and affluent because a) their parents emphasized that education was the way out of poverty, b) they themselves were smart and prudent enough to pick and master majors that enabled them to earn a good living, and c) motivated to make it happen?

Absolutely, with qualifications. The Jews were used to being dispossessed of land and other property. Education leading to professions that require neither land nor tools were a much surer path to security.

I have posted this proverb before.

"If you can't carry it in your head, you must carry it on your back." -olde Jewish Proverb

Money also became a favored way to accumulate wealth (also easy to carry).

Key Drivers of Jewish Entrepreneurship
  • Necessity & Resilience: Historically, exclusion from traditional employment fields (known as "necessity entrepreneurship") forced many to create their own ventures, particularly in finance and trading.
  • Community and Networking: Success is often linked to a strong community spirit, where business owners share opportunities, mentor each other, and invest in fellow members.
  • Values & Innovation: Many founders focus on creating lasting impact or "fixing the world" (Tikkun Olam), driven by a desire to innovate, such as in the Israeli tech sector ("Start-Up Nation").
  • Culture of Education: A cultural emphasis on learning and adaptability helps entrepreneurs navigate complex, fast-growing markets

Now there's "word salad" you can sink your teeth into. :auiqs.jpg:

I wish that antisemites who refer to Jews as “blood thirsty vermin,” such as the one above, are denied any life-saving medical treatment or devices pioneered by Jews (and there are many!)

do you ever think of the jewish legacy, its religious historical morass of self endearment at the expense of all others.
