The Psychology of MAGA

/——/ There is no Independent party. You’d know that if you were really independent.
"Independent" refers to voters who do not align with any political party, rather than a specific political party itself. However, there are political parties that use "independent" in their name, such as the American Independent Party.

Ballotpedia Wikipedia
Isn't that great ! No politics. Just vote for what you want. The way it always was suppose to be. No wonder they now outnumber both Democrats and republicans. Jan 2026 Gallup poll shows Independent voters out number both Democrats and republicans.with 45 % of the voting population. Read em and weep. You extremists helped make this happen. Thank GOD , you never saw it coming. Now trump will probably start badmouthing Independents if he hasn't already done that. Probably has , who hasn't he complained about or tried to blame.

Independents are the only legitimate choice now. The republicans and the Democrats can no longer be trusted. It's not just me , more and more people are fed up with both parties and dropping out of their ranks. Independents now have the largest share of the voting population that they've ever had. That's what corruption does to political parties. The Green , Libertarian and Constitutional parties made the mistake of aligning themselves to one or another of the two main parties which was a mistake also. Independent is the wave of the future. Every vote will count for a change. Ending the politics of it. The electoral college is definitely dead because of it's increasing corruption and negating voters vo Ctes.
I should have said only legitimate choice now. Thanks ! Corrected it.

That statement makes NO SENSE WHATSOVEVER.

There is nothing corrupt about it. It does what it was intended to do.

And tell us how it negates a vote given the context in which it was created and it's intent.

Additional data on eliminating the electoral college : 82 % of Democrats support it. 68% of Independents support and even among republicans 53% support it. So it is going to happen and soon. There should have been a sunset date on.thr electoral college. Ending it is long overdo. Every person's vote should have equal weight in elections. States are not people. We the people ,of the people , by the people , for the people.

/----/ Not all Americans nationwide want to be ruled by California, New York, and Illinois. Maybe you don't mind, but most Americans don't.
Do I have to show you photos of the Los Angeles citywide disaster?

Most people want their vote to count. Equality before the law isn't just a motto. It's an American ideal.

If we were to identify ourselves as MAGA and non-MAGA (which includes Americans across the political spectrum), perhaps we can all agree on one thing:

MAGAs appear to get enjoyment -- real enjoyment -- out of seeing non-MAGAs in some kind of distress over MAGA's actions. They cheer on Trump's constant insults and trolling, JD Vance's attacks on our former European allies, reactions to news of the rapid dismantling of the government, the release of violent Capitol criminals. They celebrate it.

So I got to wondering what this is, from a psychological perspective, and I asked Chat GPT (which is pretty freaking amazing if you haven't tried it) "is there a psychological term for a person who enjoys being disliked?"

Here's what I got:

Yes, there are several psychological concepts that could explain why someone might want to be disliked:
  1. Counterdependency – A defense mechanism where a person deliberately pushes others away or resists attachment, sometimes by behaving in a way that makes them disliked.
  2. Masochistic Personality Traits – Some individuals may have a subconscious desire to create situations where they are rejected or disliked, deriving a sense of validation or control from negative treatment.
  3. Rebellious or Oppositional Behavior (Oppositional Defiant Disorder - ODD) – Some people, especially in childhood or adolescence, may act in ways that provoke negative reactions as a way of asserting control or defiance.
  4. Self-Sabotaging Behavior – Rooted in low self-esteem or deep-seated beliefs of unworthiness, some individuals may seek out disapproval as a way to confirm negative self-perceptions.
  5. Inferiority Complex – A person with an inferiority complex may act in a way that provokes dislike as a means of reinforcing their own negative self-view.
  6. Schadenfreude-Seeking (Reverse Narcissism) – Some people enjoy being disliked because it gives them a sense of power or uniqueness, as if they are above social norms or expectations.
  7. Martyr Complex – A person with a martyr complex may subconsciously desire rejection or dislike to feel morally superior or to justify a belief that the world is against them.

There are two, primary cults in the USA:

1) Democrats also known as the "Woke Cult." This cult is generally made up of Communists.
2) Republicans also known as the "MIGA Cult." This cult is generally made up of Zionists. ("MAGA" turned out to be a ruse).

Neither cult puts America and her Constitution at the top of their priority list. Instead, it's like a perpetual Super Bowl with each side endlessly cheering for their team regardless of the rules of the game.

I would like to say that I'm a member of the "America First" Patriots but the "American League" hasn't been around for quite some time. I'm for the America founded by Christians and built around Christian principles. The America our Founding Fathers envisioned and fought for. Strict immigrations policy. Small "f" federal government. States' rights. Strict adherence to the original Constitution. Family first. Prayer allowed in public schools. All criminals punished -- including the ones in the highest positions of government. I'm for a representative form of government where our elected officials respond to the will of the American people -- not foreign lobbies or foreign beggars.

None of us have actually seen ^^ that ^^ America in our lifetime. What we see is [Corporate USA] run by the Military Industrial Complex; the Fortune 500; the Banking Cartel; and AIPAC. It's pathetic!!

Most people want their vote to count. Equality before the law isn't just a motto. It's an American ideal.
/----/ Most people are concentrated in large, blue cities. It's the minorities that live in sparsely populated red states that grow our food who would be ignored without the EC.
But you've only been told this a hundred times. You ignore it because it is what you want.

The Electoral College was designed as a compromise to balance the interests of high-population states and low-population states. It protects sparsely populated areas primarily through its allocation formula and the incentive for broad-based support.

1. The "Small State Minimum"

Each state is assigned a number of electors equal to its total Congressional delegation: one for each member in the House of Representatives plus two for its Senators.
  • The Senate Boost: Because every state has two Senators regardless of population, the smallest states receive a significant mathematical "bump."
  • Weighted Representation: In a purely popular vote system, a state like Wyoming (with roughly 580,000 people) would have very little influence. In the Electoral College, its 3 electoral votes give its citizens more "voting power" per person than voters in a massive state like California or Texas.

2. Preventing "Urban Dominance"

Without the Electoral College, candidates would focus exclusively on a few massive metropolitan hubs (like New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago) where they could rack up millions of votes efficiently.
  • Regional Diversity: The system forces candidates to appeal to different geographic regions rather than just the most densely packed urban centers.
  • Coalition Building: To win, a candidate must build broad-based coalitions across a variety of states, ensuring that the needs of rural or sparsely populated areas are not entirely ignored in national platforms.

Comparison of Voting Power

StateApproximate PopulationElectoral VotesPopulation per Elector
Wyoming~580,0003~193,000
California~39,000,00054~722,000

Whatever way you look at it the electoral college was and is a bad solution. Electing the president by popular vote is the best solution. Every vote must count , otherwise we're still cheating the people. And we are the United States not the few special states and the regular states. The United States. The only time the federal government interferes with states rights is when they do things that flagrantlty disenfranchise portions of their populations.

Op is neither qualified nor competent to make these conclusions.

Whatever.

I see it as a more basic reactionary type of response.

People got tired of being ignored.

So they put up Trump.

They got called stupid.

And he won.

And this is their way of saying... :finger3:
Oh, absolutely. I've always seen Trump as giant honking middle finger to the left. And they very much deserved it. But it takes more than to that to govern a country.

Of course you do ! Be an idiot all you want. It was verified in multiple studies. I understand reject the truth no matter what. That's ok.it only hurts you , not anyone else.

Pure garbage. It was designed, much like the senate (who was originally to be selected by the state governments) to represent states. The idea was to keep states like California ruling the entire country. You are clueless.
Electing the president by popular vote is the best solution.
Based on what reasoning? The president is not a super representative of the people. He has some allegiance to the soveriegnty of the states. If you electe him directly, he'll throw states under the bus right and left to bring the vote of uneducated idiots like you.
Every vote must count , otherwise we're still cheating the people.
They count no less in the electoral college. Get rid of the college and you'll pretty much condemn the country to civil war. California will not get to be California if it constantly elects the president.

And we are the United States not the few special states and the regular states.
Which is why we have the electoral college. There are no special states. They don't exist if other states are not voting a certain way. That won't change in your system. In fact, it will be worse.
The only time the federal government interferes with states rights is when they do things that flagrantlty disenfranchise portions of their populations.
The Federal Government constantly violates the 10th Amendment. CATO has basically said the amendment is dead. That's a pretty scary notion. You want George Soros running the country, keep trying.

Fortunately, it will never happen. You'll need a constitutional convention to make that change (you'll never get an amendment....thank heavens for states....you'll need 2/3 of them which means 20% of the population can prevent it even if 80% want it).

If we had a constitutional convention, we'd break the nation in two.
