The Psychology of MAGA

If we were to identify ourselves as MAGA and non-MAGA (which includes Americans across the political spectrum), perhaps we can all agree on one thing:

MAGAs appear to get enjoyment -- real enjoyment -- out of seeing non-MAGAs in some kind of distress over MAGA's actions. They cheer on Trump's constant insults and trolling, JD Vance's attacks on our former European allies, reactions to news of the rapid dismantling of the government, the release of violent Capitol criminals. They celebrate it.

So I got to wondering what this is, from a psychological perspective, and I asked Chat GPT (which is pretty freaking amazing if you haven't tried it) "is there a psychological term for a person who enjoys being disliked?"

Here's what I got:

Yes, there are several psychological concepts that could explain why someone might want to be disliked:
  1. Counterdependency – A defense mechanism where a person deliberately pushes others away or resists attachment, sometimes by behaving in a way that makes them disliked.
  2. Masochistic Personality Traits – Some individuals may have a subconscious desire to create situations where they are rejected or disliked, deriving a sense of validation or control from negative treatment.
  3. Rebellious or Oppositional Behavior (Oppositional Defiant Disorder - ODD) – Some people, especially in childhood or adolescence, may act in ways that provoke negative reactions as a way of asserting control or defiance.
  4. Self-Sabotaging Behavior – Rooted in low self-esteem or deep-seated beliefs of unworthiness, some individuals may seek out disapproval as a way to confirm negative self-perceptions.
  5. Inferiority Complex – A person with an inferiority complex may act in a way that provokes dislike as a means of reinforcing their own negative self-view.
  6. Schadenfreude-Seeking (Reverse Narcissism) – Some people enjoy being disliked because it gives them a sense of power or uniqueness, as if they are above social norms or expectations.
  7. Martyr Complex – A person with a martyr complex may subconsciously desire rejection or dislike to feel morally superior or to justify a belief that the world is against them.

I plead GUILTY!!!!!

I must admit that I sometimes add a little bit of Irish into some of my polls just to maximize the "Trump Derangement Syndrome Effect!"

My BAD!!!!

.....

So, is President Donald J. Trump TEN TIMES BETTER, [one thousand percent], better than President Biden was, or not?

I personally am up here in Canada thinking that YES President Donald J. Trump, in spite of the fact that "diplomacy" isn't exactly his strong suit, [or should I saw Trump suit], was at minimum a thousand percent better than President Biden was?

I will go into one rather controversial topic to give you an idea of what I mean. I personally DO NOT LIKE TARIFFS! When President Donald J. Trump came out with suggesting Tariffs I really had very little idea of what in the world he was even talking aobut but now a couple of years later I am of the belief that USA TARIFFS ON MY NATION CANADA has forced the federal government of Canada to clamp down harder on the types of crime that could be exported from Canada into the USA and could make life more dangerous for Americans?

I am of the belief that President Trumps Tariffs on Canada will force the federal government of Canada to take a look at the colossal error made by Prime Minister Pierre E. Trudeau back in 1974, so, I am of the belief that President Trump's TARIFFS even on allies to the USA, are forcing "crime" even "White Collar Crime" in what could be termed "The Ottawa Swamp" to be exposed and made understandable to all Canadians who will do their homework?

I mention this because THEORETICALLY from 2026 to 2030 Canada could begin to use our own Canadian owned Bank of Canada to assist the provinces of Canada to assist companies to deal with those rather intimidating "Trump Tariffs" on Canadian companies that export into the USA market?

The title or phrase "Taxation Cash Cow" should be of interest to any intellectually honest elected official in either Canada or the USA!"

Drug deaths hit an all time hi under Biden
Biden was the first president to effectively tackle the illicit drug problem. That's why it peaked in 2022 and has declined greatly ever since then. An effective campaign of public education and making Narcan readiily accessible , over the counter. Also Biden seized more drugs at the border in her s last2 years in office than the previous 5 years combined.3 of those years were the first trump adminstations' . They did little to nothing to stop it back then. Perhaps trump thought we'd be better off with less drug addicts. Little did he know most of those were among his own supporters. Liberals are smarter than he believes.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday lamented new data showing American drug overdose deaths topped 100,000 annually for the first time, saying that “we cannot overlook this epidemic of loss, which has touched families and communities across the country.”

More than 100,000 people died of drug overdoses in the United States during the 12-month period ending April 2021, according to provisional data published Wednesday by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That’s a new record high, with overdose deaths jumping 28.5% from the same period one year earlier.

At least you weren't foolish enough to try to dispute the claim I made. BTW , neither president was able to reduce the number of people using illicit drugs. That number is still growing. Therefore the root cause has yet to be addressed.

Dr. Melvin Morse in his book "Transformed By The Light" referred to a study done on one group of volunteers who had attempted suicide in the recent past.

That group was simply given near death experience accounts to read and ZERO people from that group attempted suicide again during the duration of that study.

Since addiction to drugs and a suicide by a drug overdose is a relatively "suicidal" behaviour pattern, we could ask ourselves is a dogmatic belief in Atheism as advocated by Richard Dawkins Ph. D. is the healthiest way for us to go in terms of our mental health?

And let me guess you believe people on the left are godless. What a hypocrite ! As if you care about the people you constantly berate.

Yes, this is the laugher in this argument.

That, or Stann really doesn't know who was president in 2022.

You see, if you look at the chart, Overdose deaths took off under Biden. Now we know that the Pandemic had something to do with it (although I do know a few people who said they'd kill themselves if Biden was elected....fortunately non of them did....and they are much happier now)

So, things take off under Biden, peak in 2022 although this chart says closer to Bidens last year. and then they start falling off at the end of his presidency. They are just going back to where they were. Biden didn't do anything to reduce deaths. They were way above normal to begin with. With things returning to normal, they dropped off.

But our third-grade logic blowhole doesn't know how to analyze things.

He also doesn't keep his word. I am going to have to put him on ignore since he won't keep his promise to stop responding to me.

What I posted up above is data. That's what Stan does not post (he just keeps saying it's out there). He picks a question intended to present Biden in a good light not realizing that Biden presided over massive deaths due to drug overdoses and COVID.

What a failure.

I am thinking of a bullring callout just for amusement.

You got one thing right they peaked on Biden's watch and he got them to turn around..when he left office it was significantly less. But again we must understand that neither president has addressed the root problem because the number of users still continues to grow.

Which is consistent with the charts I put up there.

Biden presided over death. On two fronts.

And they wanted him to run again. Population control....I guess.

Who started the turnaround in drug deaths ? Biden.

On top of being in office while drug deaths increased dramatically, Biden also blew it on immigration. I wonder where Mac1958 is. He started this loser thread.

Fresh reporting shows that before he was even sworn in, Biden was told the widespread damage his ideas would cause, and he charged ahead anyway. An extensive reconstruction by New York Times reporter Christopher Flavelle lays out how the new administration understood that millions of people might come to the U.S. as a result. Politics prevented them from changing course - even though, it turned out, they badly misread the political incentives and consequences.

The story also shows how Texas Gov. Greg Abbott finally changed their minds with his ingenious policy of busing newly arrived immigrants to Democratic-led jurisdictions so their governors and mayors could taste what the new policies were force-feeding Texas communities. Abbott's campaign should pay to have a copy of the report mailed to every voter in Texas.

Abbot spanks Biden....again.

Well maybe 995% better.

But certainly much much much better.

Now, of course the left will start to say....but this and that.

Like Biden did anything. The guy could not remember his own name for most of his presidency. He was a disaster in terms of leadership. (oh, listed to the left clamor on about how great he was. That is why he was kicked to the curb after he won the primary and replaced by his D.E.I. VP who got shelacked).

Trump huffs and puffs a good game. But he's a lot of bluster. He is, however, focused on principles that are true.

Unlike the left that has their perfect world scenario (which is a world I'd never live in.....it would be rampant with AIDS....and yeah.....the left is looking for that), and somehow thought Biden was good idea even though Biden, when he was cogent, was a moron.

And what does Stann do? He disagrees. This is public data and he somehow has to make himself feel good so he doesn't get ill over his dissonance.....so he disagrees and somehow think that actually means something.

I posted the data in context. This was data that put your numbers in context as Biden held that high rate (we should call him President Muerte for almost his entire term. It only really started to fall in his last year and has continued. So what does our petulant third-grade loser do? He certainly has no rebuttal.

The numbers are there for all to see.
