The Psychology of MAGA

I'm not crying but you will be soon. Either you will get what you want and our nation will be destroyed or you will find out most people are still sane and want the best for our nation. Either way you will not be happy with the end result.

I’ll let you in on a little secret. Sane people don’t buy what the Democrats are selling. Sane people don’t believe in a corrupt government blowing our tax dollars and always wanting more and more. Sane people recognize that we must protect our border and can’t allow people to freely walk into our country and climb on board the gravy train. Sane people don’t fall for the constant race baiting by Democrats. Sane people believe people should be hired based on merit and fired based on lack of it. Sane people don’t think a man should be considered a woman just because he thinks he is one.

The list goes on and on. Democrats have gone off the rails. They have been off the rails since Obama and they continue to move further and further away from sanity.

I've mentioned many times that 2016 taught me that America isn't what I thought it was.

You thought we were corrupt enough to elect Hillary Clinton? Can you even imagine the level of corruption in our federal government had we had 8 years of Obama, followed by 4-8 years of Hillary or Biden? Our nation would not be able to recover. 8 years of Vance are needed following 4 years of Trump to right the ship.

After that it's up to the Dems to get their shit together and provide an attractive alternative.

Good luck with that. Democrats don’t have ideas that are attractive to productive, pragmatic Americans. They play to the poor, the ultra-rich and the emotional basket cases that allow their social liberal ideology to control their every thought. You are asking that the Democratic Party revert back decades to get back to any level of sanity.

If we were to identify ourselves as MAGA and non-MAGA (which includes Americans across the political spectrum), perhaps we can all agree on one thing:

MAGAs appear to get enjoyment -- real enjoyment -- out of seeing non-MAGAs in some kind of distress over MAGA's actions. They cheer on Trump's constant insults and trolling, JD Vance's attacks on our former European allies, reactions to news of the rapid dismantling of the government, the release of violent Capitol criminals. They celebrate it.

So I got to wondering what this is, from a psychological perspective, and I asked Chat GPT (which is pretty freaking amazing if you haven't tried it) "is there a psychological term for a person who enjoys being disliked?"

Here's what I got:

Yes, there are several psychological concepts that could explain why someone might want to be disliked:
  1. Counterdependency – A defense mechanism where a person deliberately pushes others away or resists attachment, sometimes by behaving in a way that makes them disliked.
  2. Masochistic Personality Traits – Some individuals may have a subconscious desire to create situations where they are rejected or disliked, deriving a sense of validation or control from negative treatment.
  3. Rebellious or Oppositional Behavior (Oppositional Defiant Disorder - ODD) – Some people, especially in childhood or adolescence, may act in ways that provoke negative reactions as a way of asserting control or defiance.
  4. Self-Sabotaging Behavior – Rooted in low self-esteem or deep-seated beliefs of unworthiness, some individuals may seek out disapproval as a way to confirm negative self-perceptions.
  5. Inferiority Complex – A person with an inferiority complex may act in a way that provokes dislike as a means of reinforcing their own negative self-view.
  6. Schadenfreude-Seeking (Reverse Narcissism) – Some people enjoy being disliked because it gives them a sense of power or uniqueness, as if they are above social norms or expectations.
  7. Martyr Complex – A person with a martyr complex may subconsciously desire rejection or dislike to feel morally superior or to justify a belief that the world is against them.

The HUBRIS of the demented LEFT is exemplified in every post by good ol' Mac.
Good show, dumbass.

We won't get ranked choice until we reject lesser-of-two-evils. Voting for bad candidates on purpose is a losing game.
In a way, I can agree with that, although personally, I think the issue is universal suffrage. Any system that gives an equal voice to all people regardless of what they contribute to society is bound to end up moving towards socialism. There's a good reason the Founders did not allow universal suffrage. I'm not saying we should specifically go back to what limits they imposed on voting, but it probably should be limited according to certain economic factors. Someone that is a net taxpayer should have a greater voice in government than someone who is a net receiver of tax money.

What system do you believe will take over when capitalism finally fails US completely ? Even In the Star Trek world they were very much socialists. A future where we keep fighting one another for resources and continue to cannibalize the earth isn't going to last much longer.

I'm not sure what the future holds, but I don't think it will be socialism. I see the arc of socialism running parallel to the history of theocracy. I took us a few hundred years to figure out that combining religious power with state power was a really bad idea. Now we're in the midst of learning the same lesson about combining economic power with state power.

Star Trek is a fantasy because it is predicated on the concept of a post-scarcity economy. As long as scarcity exists, capitalism is the best mechanism for production/trade. Capitalism itself is not what is failing in the US or the West overall. It is the cronyism within the system that is causing problems. Oligarchies have formed in the West due to collusion between the state and industry.

I would agree that theocracy overall is a bad choice, although several Islamist states are pretty stable, like Saudi Arabia and the UAE. I don't necessarily believe that religion and state being together leads to a collapse. It really depends on how the power is wielded.

At any rate , It would appear we are being lead by the people without any brains.

You're being "lead"?

There you have it folks -- brains full of heavy metal. That explains everything.

Cool theory…that’s fun for unconventionals to say but can you or Stann tell us exactly how Christianity tangled with the state yielded something negative for society as a whole? Can you point us to those negatives?
I bet neither of you can.

Besides the obvious fact that favoring one religion over another is illegal according to the Constitution. It would lead to discrimination against people of other faiths and those who do not believe in organized religion. We don't need anyone / anything else undermining democracy , trump is attacking that just fine all by himself.

I think you’re trying to miss the point just like dblack would.
**** towel heads/Muslims…tell us, how did/does Christianity when tangled with the STATE lead to something negative for society as a whole?
Face it, you have no logical refutation. STFU

Your threads answer is---------->we won, you lost, you either get on board, or GTF out of the way. We don't need you, we don't like you, and you are incompetent, irrelevant, and immaterial!

You really want to live in a country where most people are second class citizens ? What is wrong with you ? Move to Russia or somewhere where they do that shit if that's what you want. It doesn't work for America.

And that's just a shitty answer. It's not leadership. It builds no consensus, nor support, for whatever you slam through.

I don't think you've thought this through at all. America is great because we don't discriminate.
