The Myth of Birthright Citizenship: A Constitutional and Historical Refutation

Yet so many leftys here in the forums speak out against child separation!. So, now are you telling us that you are FOR child separation?

Speaking out is just that. It changes nothing.

It's up to the parent. The child remains a citizen either way.

When american citizen are sent to prison, they are separated from their family. But libs don't complain about that.

If they are born here, they didn't "invade".
I'm not sure about this.

I just had an image from the 1979 movie Alien (appropriately enough) pop into my head. Remember when the baby alien exploded from Kane's belly and escaped into the spacecraft? It made everyone in the theater jump.

The parallel between Kane "birthing" the space alien and an illegal alien woman giving birth in America is striking. Just as the space alien invaded the ship (with plans for more), the illegal woman's offspring can be considered to be the same type of invader: non-native and potentially very hazardous.

The timeline of issues between the movie's Alien invader and a woman's baby would be different, but perhaps just as deadly. Let's not take any chances.

Pro-life my ass.

The only way this could work is if it applies to people from this point on. It will fail if they try to make it retroactive.

I ahree that the idea that you can illegally enter the country, have a child, then that makes the child a citizen and then anchors the parents here as well, is flawed. But they can't deport millions of people who have been living here as citizens their whole lives, who became citizens by the nature of their birth.

They'll need to change the interpretation and say "from this point forward". That's the only way it would work.
It will not be retroactive

If your mother is an illegal alien, you inherit her nationality and are NOT subject to the political jurisdiction of america. case closed.

So if they're not under our jurisdiction, our ability to punish them for any crime is limited to deportation and allowing them to get away with murder?
