The Myth of Birthright Citizenship: A Constitutional and Historical Refutation

Entered illegally while pregnant.

I'm sure there is historical precedence that their offspring were granted citizenship under the 14th amendment.

And that was the intend of those that wrote the 14th, and who ratified it.

That makes the mother an illegal alien. If the child is born in the US, that person is a US citizen. The mother remains an illegal alien and eligible for deportation.
Yep, exactly. In the past, a illegal alien who gave birth in the U.S. was generally not deported and her baby was the basis for her staying here even if an illegal alien. No one wants to deport a new mother leaving her baby behind. This policy lost it's efficacy with the open border policy of Biden where we couldn't possibly vet all these people and could only give them a piece of paper with a court date. The policy and our immigration policy was never meant to function in such an invasion.

Yes but that was BB. (Before Biden) who did not enforce our border and let in 14 million immigrants. The system wasn't built to handle all those people. Biden should be impeached for allowing the invasion by refusing to guard our border.

In what past?

Many, many illegal alien mothers were deported before Biden whether they had US citizen children or not.
'Many, many' is a vague number but, using that phrase I would add Many, many, many, many, many, millions more will NOT be deported because we don't know how many are here or where they are. In the recent past INS would raid companies and deport a few illegals. Today, (with ICE) you can multiply that by hundreds of thousands of illegal unknowns. So, don't worry, you'll get your wish.

I could tell you long stories about being a manager in Silicon Valley and witnessing over half the work force disappear for a few weeks after an INS raid. I've been to immigration hearings for some employees as well, heard the stories about overstaying visas, lying corrupt lawyers fleecing these folks and witnessing a generation of illegals all working at the same company.

The big difference I see today, is that the sheer number of immigrants along with all the illegal fence jumpers and the unknown number of 'got-aways' prohibits proper vetting of those wishing to immigrate and assimilate. The old rules are not sufficient to deal with this invasion.

Birthright citizenship is intended for American citizens.
It is not for foreign nationals who illegally crossed our border.
