The homefront is slowly collapsing in Russia

Ukraine doesn't have to militarily "beat" Russia. They've already knocked out about 20% of Russia's petroleum production and distribution capacity, and they and Europe can essentially strangle Russia now. Putin is on thin ice, both his economy and his personal safety.

Trump obviously doesn't want that for his own personal financial reasons of course, and that's why he did the TACO thing on more sanctions last week. All he had to do was pull the trigger. That could have been the death blow, but Trump is okay with dragging this on if he has to.

The EU bought a record amount of LNG from Russia LAST year. India and China have said from the beginning they weren't participating in the sanctions. Sorry but this feels like yet one more of the revolving justifications for continuing this war. A war the Ukrainian public overwhelmingly wants a brokered peace to.

Putin, like the commies who preceded him, does not give a **** about the privations or the deaths of his bizarrely-loyal subjects. In fact, he has NEVER made any concession on anything he wanted since becoming the de facto dictator of the Russian Federation.

His position on territory is exactly the same as was the position of the USSR: "What's mine is mine and what's yours is up for grabs." He will not concede an inch (2.54 cm?) of land voluntarily.

If Trump breaks through Putin's intransigence in ending this war, he will have earned that Nobel Peace Prize, in spades. But I don't see it happening.

We’ll beat those Russians in another four years.
Politically? Probably. Militarily? Outside of a nuclear exchange, that's a rather low bar nowadays, isn't it?

Hell... the pi$$ant Ukrainians are bleeding them dry so badly that the Roooskies have to import Asian cannon fodder.

Thats because Biden wouldnt increase US LNG production another of Bidens stupid energy policies. Trump has reversed that

The Biden Administration Releases Sobering New Report About the Impacts of LNG

Minor things like the environment are of no concern to Dotard.

Fortunately, our former friends and former allies in Europe now fully know what they're dealing with.

Having them show up at the White House with Z was absolutely perfect. Unlike Trump, they're serious.

Serious enough to stop funding Putin's invasion?

Europe's green energy has created serious energy shortage an high costs. Biden in two acts of stupidity suppressed LNG production and approved Russia's LNG pipeline to Europe. Trump has reversed that and tariff pressure will increase LNG sales form America. This is another mess Biden created

Trump stopped Nord Stream 2 (natural gas, not LNG), Biden allowed it to be completed.

It's also because Europe is dependent on Russian LNG, has been before the current conflict and will continue to be because it's cheap and easy to get. I'm not sure we could ramp up our production and get it to the European market without taking it from another market which would just open a market for Russian LNG. Once China and India said they wouldn't participate in the sanctions they weren't going to have any effect.

We have all the LNG was need to supply Europe and deals have been made to but from us. We need the infrastructure but thanks ro Bidens stupidity it delayed

An interesting interview. Keatinge says Russia's economy is feeling the strain of sanctions and the resources being put in to the war. He wonders why then has trump not pressed further with sanctions in an attempt to pressure Putin. Perhaps he doesn't know about trump's special friendship with Putin.

The answer to the sanctions question being made clear by Don's warm reception given to his pal Vlad in Alaska. And by Vlad's ability to persuade Don to try to shut down mail-in voting. Vlad has Don's ear. He knows it will create more division and unfounded suspicion over the security of our elections. One of Vlad's great ambitions being to weaken western democracies..........with Don being unwittingly (or not) glad to oblige.

This is from the "Tet Offensive decimates US in Vietnam" school of reporting, 180 degrees different than reality

The Dotard is more concerned about everyday Americans being able to afford energy rather than the US going broke trying to fight a losing battle against mother nature.

Just another million or so dead Ukrainians, and you guys will have this thing wrapped up!

Why didn't Europe strangle Russia three years ago???

So what's the answer? Mimic the Munich appeasers of 1938 and give the aggressive dictator a victory?

And... if he scores a victory with this... will he stop there and go no further? Do you really believe that?

Or is it merely your position that it's not our problem... much as we looked the other way over Munich?

Not everything is Nazi Germany. Every dictator isn’t Hitler. Is the only lesson from WW2 that anyone who isn’t a warhawk Neville Cbamberlain? Even if what you say is true where is he going to go? Russia can’t push any further into Eastern Europe but through a NATO ally. If that happens which is very highly unlikely we deal with it. The Ukrainians want to end the war. Is it worth killing untold amounts of people and wrecking Ukraine more than it already is because Putin might invade more of Ukraine?

Putin knows that Trump had been laundering money for the Russian mob for decades.

End of story.

Actually, Chamberlain gets a bad rap for Munich. He did the sensible thing there.

Czechoslovakia was surrounded on three sides by Germany at that point, and half its population (Germans, Hungarians, Slovaks) wanted out of the country. The UK wasn't ready for a war, and their main ally, France, had placed all its resources in defensive armorments/static defenses.

So buying time was the sensible thing to do.

MOre to the point, Munich happened because they were trying to avoid a war. The war is already here.

The war has reached a stalemate. The lines are pretty much static right now, so all they are really accomplishing at this point is killing people. if Ukraine is the best Russia can do, they aren't a threat to the US or Europe. It will probably take them a decade to replace all the equipment they've expended.
