Zone1 The Handmaid's Tale: A Perversion of Christianity

Punishment is very biblical.
Are you suggesting that punishment has no basis in reality? Because we are constantly getting feedback on our behaviors and actions, right? Cheat on your wife and she divorces you. That's a punishment, right? Lie to your employer about the hours you worked and he fires you. That's a punishment, right? And on and on the list goes.

So real world punishments are ok but God forbid the Bible point them out?

Cheat on your wife and she divorces you.
According to the bible, you should die.
Lie to your employer
Also could carry a death sentence. Or eternal damnation in fire and sulfur.

Thank gawd we grew out of that retarded mess, huh?

You are comparing biblical punishment (death) from a god, to divorce and getting fired as a punishment from an individual. lol derp.
Hilarious.

According to the bible, you should die.
No. According to you.
Also could carry a death sentence. Or eternal damnation in fire and sulfur.
Or being eternally united with God. You keep forgetting that.

Are you suggesting all punishment is unfair? That there should be no punishment ever? Don't you want to be accountable? Isn't that how you live your life now? Don't you want others to be held accountable? When you are wronged don't you want the prerson wronging you to be held accountable?
Thank gawd we grew out of that retarded mess, huh?
You mean being accountable? I haven't outgrown that. Maybe it's that you want others to accountable for what they do to you but don't want to be accountable for what you do to them. Does this sound about right to you?
You are comparing biblical punishment (death) from a god, to divorce and getting fired as a punishment from an individual. lol derp.
I am stating a reality. You and everyone else ever born experiences punishment in their life. Why don't you want to be held accountable?
Hilarious.
I think it's sad that you don't believe in accountability.

No. According to you.
Deut 22
Are you suggesting all punishment is unfair?
How do you come up with this retarded mess?
You mean being accountable?
No dummy. I mean people thinking people should die for lying. Or getting killed for sleeping around. Of course, you know what I meant. You just like to misrepresent because you dont have an honest argument against anything I say.
Why don't you want to be held accountable?
More dumb stuff.
I think it's sad that you don't believe in accountability.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand again.

I'm not Jewish. So, no. I'm a Christian.

Jesus corrected and taught it's not about rule keeping, it's about loving God with all your heart. At some point you are going to recognize that religions are an honor based system. As such, people will do what they will do without regard for what their religion teaches. Religion isn't needed for good people. Good people are going to do good regardless. Religion is needed for bad people and bad people don't care if they are bad. They only care about getting caught which seems to be where you are at.

The bible does teach us to be obedient to GOD. That doesn't mean it was written for other humans to control us. It means that if you want a happy, peaceful and successful life, that you should love God with all your heart. Because if you love God you won't need rules because you will always do the right thing. Which is literally what Jesus corrected and taught. It's not about rule keeping. It's about loving God.

How do you come up with this retarded mess?
Easy. You have a problem with being punished by God. So answer my question. Are you suggesting all punishment is unfair?
No dummy. I mean people thinking people should die for lying.
Take it up with the Jews. I'm a Christian. The primary purpose of Christianity is to reconcile humanity with God through faith in Jesus Christ, offering salvation, forgiveness of sins, and the promise of eternal life. It focuses on fostering a personal relationship with God, conforming believers to the image of Christ, and loving others through service.

Reconciling humans to God, overcoming the separation caused by sin through Jesus' death and resurrection. Cultivating a personal, daily relationship with God through the Holy Spirit rather than just adhering to rules. Being transformed into the likeness of Christ (sanctification) and living righteously, which includes love for others. Living in a way that reflects God's glory and makes his worth known.

Do you have a problem with this?
Or getting killed for sleeping around. Of course, you know what I meant. You just like to misrepresent because you dont have an honest argument against anything I say.
All of my arguments are honest. You are the one being dishonest. Different offenses have different punishments. You know that, right?

Do you have a problem with being fairly punished?
More dumb stuff.
It's dumb that you won't answer it.

Do you have a problem with being fairly punished?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand again.
Do you have a problem with being fairly punished?

I'm not Jewish. So, no. I'm a Christian.
So ignore what jesus said. Ok.
And despite your paganism, the bible does say that. You just like to lie. Enjoy your fire and sulfur, idiot.
Easy. You have a problem with being punished by God.
lol derp. I dont believe in your god. Hek, you dont either, really. But being KILLED for dumb stuff is barbaric.

Unless you are cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, one who practices magic, an idolater or a liar.

So ignore what jesus said. Ok.
No. That's what you are literally doing. Jesus taught it's not about rule keeping. It's about loving God.

If you do something wrong, shouldn't you be punished?

Apparently you don't believe anyone should ever be punished. You are literally arguing against accountability.
Unless you are cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, one who practices magic, an idolater or a liar.
That's not how I see it at all and that's not how Jesus saw it. Jesus taught it's not about rule keeping. It's about loving God and loving your neighbor as you love yourself. What part of this message do you disagree with?

So ignore what jesus said. Ok.

The Creator has the absolute right to "kill" anyone He likes at any time. Just as a sculptor has the absolute right to destroy his sculpture and begin again (or not) at any time.

Yeah, and its barbaric. Why would an omniscient one create something he knows he will kill?
Imagine what would happen to someone who clones things, just to torture them and kill them. Imagine what you would say about that.

Then its our job to show them what good Christians are.

Such a big factor in that is personal freedom. God loves freedom so much He allows us to choose to love Him.

That's why Gilead is such a perversion of Christianity, and probably just one aspect of how wrong it is.

"someone" is not God: all loving, all knowing, all present, etc.

And He does it because it was worth it, and He is in charge of all eternal destiny.

I know you don't like it. I can't imagine that God is too concerned about that.

Excellent points. I think thats also supported by the work itself.
