If "most" understand that then most do not understand that the resurrection of the dead is not about the resumption of a former existence but entry into a new existence.Nice try but just admit you are attempting to change the meaning of what most understand. The people are dead and will come back alive without a hair on their head missing.
In the parable of the prodigal son, the father said, "But it was only right that we should celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and has come to life; he was lost and now he is found.’" Luke 15:32
There are two resurrections. The first is from the death of false beliefs. The second is from death of the body.
In both cases the subject of the resurrection is not the resumption of a former existence but entry into a new existence. Those who partake in the first resurrection cannot be harmed by the second death, death of the body.
