Regardless of any effort on their part? They get it just because they need it, even if they refuse to get a job? If you say yes, then you are a Marxist. If helping those who need help is Marxism
So be it

Just handing out money to anyone who needs it, and requiring nothing from them in the way of effort or trying to help themselves, is a great way to disincentivize the population and create a big drop in productivity.
I’m thinking we need to REDUCE handouts to able-bodied people who refuse to take a job, when every store is advertising $17 an hour for unskilled work in an air-conditioned environment.
An able-bodied man who refuses to take a job is a victim? Leave it to the Marxists, and half the country won‘t be working.Typical blame the victim of Conservatives
So they either acquire some valuable job skills, or they triple up in a townhouse. We also have people working 40 hours a week and not making enough to pay the rent, food, transportation, healthcare
EQUITY
When the "victim" is able bodied and simply refuses to work, hell yes, I blame the "victim".Typical blame the victim of Conservatives
When the "victim" is able bodied and simply refuses to work, hell yes, I blame the "victim".
Nobody said that. We said that an able-bodied man who refuses to take a job is NOT a victim. He is making a choice not to work. You repeat the myth that Conservatives have been spouting since Dickens
The poor deserve their lot in life and are lazy and shiftless
Why should the wealthy among us give up their luxuries to help those who are struggling
Not their fault that the poor did not grow up with rich parents

That depends on how they "got" it, doesn't it?Why do you feel like you have lost something if someone else gets the same as you?
SOMETIMES the poor ARE responsible for their lot in life if they simply refuse to take a job. Target and Walmart are offering $17 and $18 an hour for unskilled work, and there is no valid reason why an able-bodied man should turn that down and just not work at all.You repeat the myth that Conservatives have been spouting since Dickens

They do if they have a family. The family income moves down and they get all sorts of benefits. Shameful that a man would take handouts from others for his kids instead of getting a job. Most able bodied men don‘t qualify for welfare
No. You don't. They have to do it the same as everyone else. Why should my hard earned go to feed Yolanda's 12 babies by seven babydaddies? As it should be
You help those communities that need help

Equity is in direct conflict with Equal Rights. To the extent that the government tries to ensure that everyone has equal outcomes, it must violate equal rights. And if we protect equal rights, there will certainly be unequal outcomes.
What bout the father of two or three kids who just refuses to work, knowing other people will feed his kids? If we didn’t give him free money, he’d be forced to work.Because you don’t want babies to starve
Nope. That’s not the definition of equity. Leftists keep talking about equal OUTCOMES. That means someone who squeaked by high school and now works at Target should live as well as someone who sacrificed to go to college to develop high-value career skills.Equity does not expect equal outcomes
It does not try to make everyone live like a millionaire.
But is does advocate helping those who are struggling more than helping the millionaires
