Western culture is a product of Roman culture.
Therefore both German and American are the result of Roman Authoritarianism.
As for another direction to go:
A. E. Van Vogt and General Semantics
The Project Gutenberg EBook of Manhood of Humanity. by Alfred Korzybski
van Vogts books present the ideas in a more interesting manner than Korzybski.
But how do American schools that supposedly advocate capitalism not come up with something as obvious as suggesting that 700 year old double-entry accounting be mandatory in high school? Are the schools really designed to produce dumb workers?
