Your typical blatant lying posts. You talk about WHO misleading the public up to March 6 and then give statements from January 23 and 2 weeks later, which is the beginning of February, not March 6. But I'm done talking to you, it's useless talking to anyone who intentionally builds misrepresentation into every post. The WHO DOWNPLAYED the spreading epidemic as late as March 6th, 2020
WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION, JANUARY 23, 2020:
Spread of the new coronavirus that originated in China has not yet reached a level that would deem it a global public health emergency, the World Health Organization said on Thursday. The virus has sickened more than 600 people, and 25 have died.
“Now is not the time. It’s too early to consider that this event is a public health emergency of international concern,” Didier Houssin, chair of the WHO emergency committee, said during a news conference from Geneva.
Houssin said the decision is based on the limited number of cases worldwide, as well as efforts in China to try to contain the disease.
(Evidence shows China had been lying to the world , refusing to share time-sensitive information, and attempting to keep the world form knowing about THEIR outbreak. If they were trying to contain it they would have stopped international flights in NOV 2019)
“Make no mistake, this is an emergency in China,” said WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. “But it is not yet a global health emergency.”
Evidence shows China became aware of the seriousness of their COVID-19 outbreak in Huwan, China as early as November 2019 but took no action to shut down international flights directly from Huwan to other countries....like Italy, France, and the US. Doing so would have been a major 'red flag' to the world how serious of an epidemic was going on in China. By hiding the outbreak and refusing to stop international travel China knowingly facilitated the spread of COVID-19 and it becoming a global pandemic.
China's refusal to allow the CDC into China should also have been a 'red flag'.
2 WEEKS LATER (AFTER ITS 23 JANUARY '20 STATEMENT), THE WHO URGED OTHER NATIONS NOT TO CLOSE ITS BORDERS AND PREVENT TRAVEL FROM CHINA AND OTHER NATIONS THE VIRUS WAS SPREAD TO BY CHINA:
Borders should be kept open and people and trade flowing in the face of the coronavirus outbreak, although countries have a sovereign right to take measures to try to protect their citizens, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday. There is a “huge reason to keep official border crossings open” to avoid people entering irregularly and going unchecked for symptoms, WHO spokesman Christian Lindmeier told a Geneva briefing.
The WHO was not only urging nations to keep their borders open but were also expressing the need for countries to check all foreigners entering their countries for symptoms....acknowledging the virus was spreading internationally.
FLASHBACK: World Health Organization Downplayed COVID-19 Risk At First, Urged Open Borders
Now that the coronavirus has officially been declared a pandemic, let’s revisit the World Health Organization’s initial response to the virus. They initially downplayed the threat and told everyone it wasn’t much to worry about, that it was only a China issue. Ironic, because it’s now considered...www.thegatewaypundit.com
