The case for ignore button

Not sure how you make that leap, you have a right to not associate with people you don’t want to associate with. Their free speech is intact, they can continue to be stupid, you just don’t have to listen. It’s like changing the channel on a TV, I don’t watch what I don’t like.

And putting someone on ignore is no where near close to killing them.

Ignoring on forums has not been my style, only using it to block the absolute worst of the worst.
With the murder of Charlie - I don't know. I am re-evaluating. I have already placed several more on ignore.
Far leftist that are in glee of this happening - they don't deserve a voice.

Maybe we all should consider this. The haters don't deserve to be heard.

I only ignore people whose posts are calculated to not add anything to a discussion, actively divert it away from the topic or start a flame war. Trolls, basically.

I never put anyone on ignore. What is the point of being in a political forum if you don't want to debate? It is like joining a swimming club and hating the water.

If the other member doesn’t ever debate but only trolls and lies and spreads hate, then there’s no purpose served in having that member’s posts clutter up threads.

On other boards, I've had some great discussions with people who I don't agree with on just about anything.

I've been able to have discussions/debates with Leftists/Independents on this board. They are not all irredeemable trolls, but the ones that are can take a hike and get a life.
