He is going to have a problem with that, the liberal members of his party will fight him tooth and nail on sending more troops. I always thought that it would not be the republicans that would give him trouble, because there is not enough of them , in the end it will be his own party.

Obama has an exit strategy. He said he's not against war, he's against stupid wars. If he send more troops to Afganistan, he'll try to sell it as a smart war.

As President, you can't just keep sending more troops when the Generals ask you....ask LBJ

Obama can afford to dump more troops into Afghanistan for the next two years and hope for some stability. By 2011 he needs to get the hell out or it will cost him the election
