It is no surprise that the effects of gerrymandering tilt in favor of the GOP. This decade, as last, Republicans disproportionately controlled the redistricting process, drawing 191 (or 44 percent) of the districts that will be used in this year’s elections. By contrast, Democrats fully controlled the drawing of only 75 districts. The rest were drawn by commissions, courts, or divided governments.

Why do they not even mention Massachusetts? ZERO Republicans in Congress, and yet 36% of the state voted for Trump.

Why not leave it all to a computer algorithm that just takes into account population and a requirement for compact districts? I’d be in favor of that. It’s not like Republicans are innocent, take Alabama.

"No, I think they don’t have the moral authority, and there’s a lot of pearl-clutching going on," he said.
Several blue states, including Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Mexico, have no Republicans in their House delegations. And many feature oddly-drawn districts, seemingly crafted to limit GOP representation.

They managed to gerrymander away the one district that had been consistently GOP. aparently, the trick was to curve the district to the left and fold in the right part of the district to the upper blue district.
I guess that sucks for Republicans voters.
But . . . no one can stop them. The USSC ruled that courts have no jurisdiction over politically motivated drawing of district lines.
Republicans in those states need to either get out the vote, or lobby for Congress to ban gerrymandering.
