Texas county where campers died was denied money to boost warning systems TWICE

You are sick. You don't care about the children who died or anyone else. You only care about Trump, Trump, Trump. You have a mental illness about Trump (TDS). You can stop spreading these lies. There was plenty of warnings given days before the flooding. Even early on in the morning everyone was warned. The question is, why were they not evacuated before the rains? More money would not have made a difference. It was the choice not to evacuate. But, all you can do is think of how to hurt Trump. It was the state of Texas that denied requests, not Trump. Get some help.

What a liar you and Fox are. In a major disaster where massive irresponsibility and incompetence are a major contributor, blame the victims. That is the MAGA response. Don't worry about preventing a repeat of the disaster, blame the victims and avoid having to pay for the necessary changes to avoid a repeat.

The staff received timely warning at the camp. They chose not to take any precautions because there had been countless flash flood warnings and the Guadalupe River has been out of its banks many many times without threatening any of the cabins or campers at Mystic Camp in its 99 years history. The children were all asleep and nobody was out near where the water would be expected to be.

The weather service predicted up to 6" of rain which that area has often received. Nobody predicted the amount of rain that actually fell or the degree of flash flooding that would occur.

". . .Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly, the county's top elected official, said: "We know we get rain. We know the river rises. But nobody saw this coming.

"We have floods all the time. This is the most dangerous river valley in the United States," he said, adding: "We had no reason to believe this was going to be anything like what's happened here. None whatsoever.". . .{

They won't make that same mistake again.

To politicize such a terrible terrible tragedy to denigrate MAGA and Trump makes you and your ilk the reprehensible ones,
There is every reason to hold those accountable that failed the children in this disaster. First the siting of the camp. On a river in a region known as flash flood alley, why site a camp for young children on a flood plain. And they knew from the 1987 flood that there would be little warning time. Why was there not a flood watch in a storm like that? Why were all the cell phones off in camp? Why did the county sheriffs office have people out warning the camps of impending danger? Why was not the suggested warning system, suggested in 2017 in response to a disaster along another river in that area, implemented? Yes, there must be a comprehensive investigation of all the failures that led to this tragedy. And it should be done by an impartial body, not locals, and not people appointed by the GOP.

The camp has been there for 99 years during which the river has been out of it banks due to flash floods many many many times without putting a single camper at risk. I will not condemn people for miscalculating or not anticipating a multi-century event that nobody believed or had any reason to believe would happen.

The weather service missed it. The authorities issuing the warnings missed it. There is absolutely no reason to believe this was intentional or negligence. Nobody wanted to put people at risk or for there to be harm to a single soul. As the Kerr Country Sheriff publicly said, "NOBODY saw this coming."

:auiqs.jpg:Well, he would have said he did as he was the liar in chief.
While the Trump admin gets a little blame for their actions concerning the Weather Service, the primary blame here belongs within Texas and Kerr County. From the siting of the camps to the lack of a warning system, this tragedy required a series of incompetent and negligent steps in Texas.

You can disagree until the cows come home Old Rocks, but it won't change the truth of what I am arguing.

No reason to believe it would happen? I lived in Eastern Oregon a large portion of my life. In mountain country prone to major thunderstorms. Anyone living in such areas should know that all it takes in an especially violent storm to exceed known flood levels, It has happened many times before in not only Texas, but most other states with that kind of terrain.

"The flooding is similar to a flood that happened in 1987 when campers at a nearby Pot O' Gold Ranch were swept away by rushing floodwaters, according to the National Weather Service. Ten of the teens tragically drowned. The remaining 33 children and adults survived as a result of a series of rescues, including dramatic helicopter rescues of several clinging to tree tops, conducted by Texas DPS, the US Army's 507th Medical Division, and a local television news station from San Antonio, Texas."

The Guadalupe had NEVER risen 34 feet in its recorded history, much less rising 30 feet in less than an hour, 34 feet in less than 90 minutes. The weather service underestimated the amount of rain the area would get and the amount they predicted had fallen many times before with no danger to the camp.

The Guadalupe had flash flooded many many times and never threated Camp Mystic buildings or campers in its 99 years history.

I won't fault people for not anticipating that the weather service was miscalculating the amount of rain that would fall or what the river would do. Once the completely unexpected event did occur, I think more Camp Mystic staffers lost their lives saving and trying to save the children than children were lost. It is an absolute certainty that NOBODY intentionally put those counselors and children at risk.

You can cite other events elsewhere until the cows come home, and it won't change those facts.

That's where your sick response lies, thinking you know what anyone is thinking. MAGA's response hasn't been to blame anyone. Only the Democrats have come out to blame anyone. You find one article that has a MAGA or FOX blaming victims. But, you can find a 100 of leftwing Democrat politicians and their leftwing media blaming Trump right out of the gate. People are dying and all you and your sick leftist commies can do is blame Trump.

Now, for real reporting, we find a leftwing disaster Fire Chief would not allow their trained for swift water rescues to go and help.

There was nothing that could have been done. They had plenty of time from the first storm warning to the disaster to get campers out of there. There was something like this like 20 years ago. It had nothing to the Trump administration. Stupid Leftists and their TDS mental illness.
