Thus validating the reason for the sodomy laws in the first place... and proving the necessity for those law AND the foolishness central to removing them.

The coolest part is that law which rests in subjectivity is invalid law... and no American is obligated to obey subjective law. What's more, we're duty bound to destroy those who advocate for such law.

So you're resentful of open homosexuals. You would be content if homosexuals remained closeted, persecuted, have their careers ruined, perhaps criminalized.

To what purpose? Is it a crime to be a homosexual in America? Are homosexuals tax payers, contributers to their community, property owners, business owners? Do homosexual's attend and play an active part in their churches, schools, civic organizations and government?

What is their offense that makes you more comfortable repressing them than recognizing that by granting them the same rights you enjoy, your rights do not diminish. Extending liberty to all citizens equally is the only way we can call ourselves free. That's why you should "give" them something. But you're not 'giving' anything at all. The constitution protects rights.

Now, you are uncomfortable with homosexuals. Do you think your own sexuality is compromised by the fact homosexuals have always been your neighbors, perhaps your friends, and even your family?

You remind me of an episode of All in the Family. Forgive me, but I don't know if you're old enough to remember that show. The lead character was played by Carrol O'Connor. He was a guy named Archie Bunker, a blue collar New York union warehouse worker and arch Conservative. Anyway, in one particular episode, Archie was discussing his amazement at the African American cultural and racial explosion during the early 1970s. Archie said "We did even know we had coloreds until Eleanor Roosevelt showed 'em to us!"
