Teaching a balanced view of the Holocaust in Texas

You didnt read the article, did you? If you did, and that's what you got out of it, there is no other conclusion but to call you stupid.
Somebody's a triggered little whiner. By all means cite the language in the bill that backs up this 'story'. Otherwise you got nothing. I'll wait.

"Ano teacher shall be compelled by a policy of any state agency, school district, campus, open-enrollment charter school, or school administration to discuss current events or widely debated and currently controversial issues of public policy or social affairs; (2)AAteachers who choose to discuss current events or widely debated and currently controversial issues of public policy or social affairs shall, to the best of their ability, strive to explore such issues from diverse and contending perspectives without giving deference to any one perspective;"

What opposing view??
Some folks think that only Jews were murdered during the Holocaust.

Some folks think that only 6 million people were murdered personally, I think the 12 million tally is a 2, or 3 million short).

Some think all the death camps were in Germany.

There are a lot of false assumptions about the Holocaust.

How does that apply to the Holocaust? It's not a current event, public policy, or a social affair. You folks got triggered over BS. Own it.

It's a state law, dipshit.
Doesn't say that in the OP's source. Does it?

" A top administrator with the Carroll Independent School District in Southlake advised teachers last week that if they have a book about the Holocaust in their classroom, they should also offer students access to a book from an “opposing” perspective, according to an audio recording obtained by NBC News.

Gina Peddy, the Carroll school district’s executive director of curriculum and instruction, made the comment Friday afternoon during a training session on which books teachers can have in classroom libraries. The training came four days after the Carroll school board, responding to a parent’s complaint, voted to reprimand a fourth grade teacher who had kept an anti-racism book in her classroom."

Are you really this stupid? You actually think each locality makes laws regarding their educational system? You cant be this stupid.

You are showing your gross ignorance here again.

Mr. Hitler and his socialist goombas didn't condemn the Jewish people because of their faith, but because of their supposed race.

Just another racist lib.

BTW, Hitler wasn't a Christian at all- his attacks against the churches were also legendary.
Hitler was baptized and raised Catholic. Catholics assisted Nazis and the Catholic Church did forbid them to do so and did nothing to help the Jews. The Catholic clergy hid Nazi war criminals after WWII. What did Pius XII know and when did he know it?

In my post, I referred to anti-Semitism dating back centuries. Also, I said nothing that would warrant being labeled a "racist," and calling someone a "lib" is just a stupid name that indicates that the person using it is an idiot.

It could be included in a current event in the fact ie Charlottesville there were Nazi's having a mass protest. Once you start talking about current Nazi's, one has to bring up the Holocaust, etc etc. Good people on both sides, right?

Just admit it, the wording in the bill sucks and nobody thought about the real life repercussions in the class room.

For once words fail me.Right wing lunacy has seen all sorts of nonsense dragged into the classroom. For example trying to debunk Darwin. But this seems quite dangerous to me.

I wonder if its just boneheadism or if there is a more sinister movement behind this.
“Just try to remember the concepts of [House Bill] 3979,” Peddy said in the recording, referring to a new Texas law that requires teachers to present multiple perspectives when discussing “widely debated and currently controversial” issues. “And make sure that if you have a book on the Holocaust,” Peddy continued, “that you have one that has an opposing, that has other perspectives.”

Offer two different perspectives and let the students decide for themselves?

EXECUTE HIM!!!

You are one hell of a fucking tyrant, Tommy. I am glad we kicked your asses twice. We may need to do it a third time, just for fun.

Sometimes there just are no words for this stuff, these last five years. You want to think that it's just small and isolated and irrelevant, but it isn't.

This didn't happen overnight, so it's clearly going to take a while.
So, you are against students learning to think for themselves?

I am not surprised one bit.

So you are advocating we dont teach right from wrong and you want schools to indoctrinate kids with Nazi propaganda.

I already did. But I'll post it again for your dumb ass.
This is the key point of that legislation that nobody can really criticize:

A. teachers who choose to discuss current events or widely debated and currently controversial issues of public policy or social affairs shall, to the best of their ability, strive to explore such issues from diverse and contending perspectives without giving deference to any one perspective;

What's wrong with that? Why are all the leftists so ass hurt about not being able to indoctrinate and present only one perspective?

So you are advocating we dont teach right from wrong and you want schools to indoctrinate kids with Nazi propaganda.
No, I want the exact opposite. You want teachers to be able to spew their commie views without presenting any alternative points and this is making you mad.

Leftists HATE when they can't control all information and knowledge.

What a load of crap. The Holocaust was a foreign country's policy. Nothing in the legislation says alternative views are required when discussing the actions of foreign countries. This is a red herring.
