Illegal border crossings on track to reach new Biden-era low
Unlawful crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border are on track to drop to a new low for the Biden administration in November, according to internal Customs and Border Protection figures obtained by CBS News.
U.S. Border Patrol is on pace to record fewer than 50,000 apprehensions of migrants crossing the southern border unlawfully this month. The agency has been averaging roughly 1,550 apprehensions between legal border entry points each day so far in November, according to the internal data.
The current four-year-low in illegal immigration reflects a broader decrease that began earlier this year and that has been mainly attributed to efforts by the Mexican government to stop migrants from reaching American soil and asylum restrictions enacted by President Biden in June.

That's the list of encounters.. how many of them were sent back? If the same person gets caught three times crossing the border, that counts as three encounters.
The real problem is immigrants have figured out the Asylum Loophole, largely because the last time, Trump and Miller dismantled much of the apparatus to process asylum cases.

With Canada, meaningless. Poilievre is just gonna bypass the US and start selling to other countries, so the US will simply lose out.
Any oil or LNG the US wants off Canada will now just be dearer. The US is going to have to do something alien to them, go and make friends, not enemies. History has always shown the Americans are slow on the uptake.

Trudeau signed yet another trade agreement at the latest G20 conference, and has been quietly signing trade deals around the world ever since 2020, in anticipation of Trump's return. Wash, rinse and repeat for the EU, and your Asian trading partners. The entire world has a Plan B in case Trump returned to the White House.
I'm not convinced that a lightweight like Poilievre is going to be Prime Minister. Canadians know that Mark Carney has been behind every major economic decision in the past 25 years, that has kept the USA from crashing and destroying the Canadian economy, despite all of best efforts of successive Republican Presidents.
Trump is blaming Canada for the failure of his CANADA-MEXICO-USA trade agreement, which was supposed to stop Canada and Mexico from "screwing you over". Trump negotiated this deal. TRUMP screwed you over.

Federally, Conservatives have no discernable platford other than to make Canada "free again". Whatever that means.
Mark Carney was UK BofE governor for a period of time, I would honestly say it's in Canada's best interests to avoid Carney and elect Poilievre.
