Tariff ruling.

For what Trumpers are calling "not even a setback", Trump sure is whining a lot about it.

You call the two-bit hustler & conman from Queens having his ass handed back to him by SCOTUS, winning?
On the whole, he's DOMINATED American politics for the last 11 years.
You, OTOH, haven't dominated anything other than probably some 911 calls from neighbors.
If your boy is winning then why did he have "code brown" moment running down his pantleg, whine, piss & moan & throw a temper tantrum today over the decision for the whole country to see?

Trump doesn't do that shit. He moves on, unlike the stupid people who hate him. He'll have something lined up pronto. Because he's smart and tough, unlike his opposition.

I'm enjoying the butthurt.
In other words, you're enjoying a fantasy.
Because there is no butthurt.
We're no whiners and punks like the Left.
We move on and try different approaches, particularly under Trump.
Your side keeps banging their head against the same brick wall like, "Men can be women!"
Idiots.

President Trump’s economic agenda has created a new level of volatility for the federal budget, as the Supreme Court ruling against many of his tariffs appeared to create a trillion-dollar hole on Friday morning that Mr. Trump quickly said he could fill.

Mr. Trump has reshaped the country’s fiscal situation since he took office last year. He passed an expensive income tax cut that economists warned could put the already-indebted nation on an even more perilous path. But he also instituted an expansive set of tariffs that, while shifting a larger tax burden onto low-income Americans, helped plug that fiscal gap.

The Supreme Court did not ban tariffs.
The Supreme Court said when you set tariffs, do it as the Constitution dictates. The congress has the power of the purse. If not, it is illegal. This restores seperation of power as set down by our founding fathers.

It is no different than immigrants. The US has not said no immigrants. It said immigrants must come in legally. The rules of our conststution must be followed. No illegal immigrants.

If it is good for immigrants, it is good for Donald Trump. DO IT BY THE RULES of our government.
You are quoting Trump here, a proven pathological liar.

Furthermore, a 10% global tariff over 1 year including the tariffs that weren't struck by the court would amount to $342 billion annually.

When he said it made him more powerful, he wasn't joking.

Well, the point was that something that was man-made (so to speak) was intevening in the market economy. If the plant that makes widgets was destroyed by a fire, that would have the same effect...the supply goes down so the price goes up. If it were proven to be arson, would you expect to get reimbursed? Probably not.
I probably wouldn't mostly because arsonists aren't rich. But if Elon Musk set fire to the widget factory, and caused the price of widgets to increase, I suspect every widget user in the country would be suing Tesla and Monk.

Good luck suing the pirates. You may get some money out of the whole affair but then you get into “where did you buy your widget?” Wal*Mart using their scale gets a lower price from Widget Incorporated than the mom and pop place. So the pain of tariffs or pirates or arson you’ve experienced at Wal Mart is a paper cut compared to the sucking chest wound I experienced at my local 5 and dime.
So pirates can be fined but they can't be sued? As for the complexity, I think class action suits handle this all the time. Members of the class itemize the items they bought, where and how much. They get compensated based on their level of harm.

Yes. We were having a discussion about Big Business suing the Trump administration for remedies for the illegal taxes they were paying. My arguemnt with Eman623 was that the counsumer isn’t paying a tax...they are paying a higher price due to the tax but we’re not entitled to relief because of the tariff. They think that we should be.

Tarirris are a tax paid for by American consumers...you’re 100% correct.
Wait, if importers get charged tariffs, but they charge more for their products to pass those tariffs along, how are they harmed?

Example: the widget importer sells his widgets for $1.00. Then a 10% tariff is imposed. He now sells his widgets for $1.10. His profit is unchanged.
