Yes, little. That is mostly wheat fields and other farmland. Ironic your map placed that over the sparsely populated mostly mountainous region of Europe. Russia is how many times the size and population of Ukraine?Little?

The Russians don't fly in Syria much. Maybe they don't want Israel shooting them down when they pass through on their way to Iran.Israel has not downed ONE Russian War Plane .
I don't think President Trump will allow that. The time will show. I don't think that Erdogan's goal is to topple Assad. He is interested in northern Syria, where predominantly Kurdish regions are located. He wants them under Turkish control to eliminate a possible threat that Kurdish military units may pose to Turkey proper.
And what is he going to do? To start a war or impose economic embargo on Turkey?I don't think President Trump will allow that.
He can have NATO remove them. Economic sanctions would crush them as they would not be able to trade with the EU. They don't have oil as a commodity. And what is he going to do? To start a war or impose economic embargo on Turkey?
The Sunni and Shia still don't like each other very much.Turkey would be thrown out of NATO and destroyed if they did.
Most people do not know that Turkey is Muslim-in-name-only. The biggest businesses there are bars selling alcohol and the Turks really imbibe! The Sunni and Shia still don't like each other very much.
NATO is a collective bloc where decisions are made by a unanimous vote. One country saying 'no' would be enough to block any move against Turkey. He can have NATO remove them. Economic sanctions would crush them as they would not be able to trade with the EU. They don't have oil as a commodity.
Yeah, and who would that be? Turkey has little to no support in NATO to start with.NATO is a collective bloc where decisions are made by a unanimous vote. One country saying 'no' would be enough to block any move against Turkey.
Economic sanctions impacting trade with the EU will take place only when the EU agrees and complies with them.
This is where the Great Exodus began, historians will look back in 2011 in Syria and signal this development in the darkening of Europe and the weakening of Christiantiy in Europe in the same way historians today look at the Huns sweeping in from Asia and pushing the Goths into the Roman Empire, bringing about its fall. It's a natural cycle throughout human history, and it never ends well for someone.
Albania maybe? But overall, I have to agree with the most written above. Turkey doesn't have allies in Europe or in the Middle East (small and insignificant Azerbaijan, proxies in Syria and Lybia, and maybe Pakistan aren't quite enough for a regional alliance). Turkey is on their own. Besides, its neighbours aren't so keen on them.Yeah, and who would that be? Turkey has little to no support in NATO to start with.
Even back in the 80s, I had Greek Naval Academy midshipmen on my ship, and we did an exercise with the Turks and they were not to be told the Greeks were aboard. They were not to even be seen. My best friend was assigned to one of their ships. The sailors slept on straw.
The only reason we tolerate them is because they oppose Russian like we do. When that started to wane, they started digging their own graces, especially opposing Israel.
The US are good at granting states in other peoples Countries.Albania maybe? But overall, I have to agree with the most written above. But will the US decide to play a Kurdish card to the extent of granting them a separate state? Maybe, don't know. I personally supported their possible state not too long ago. Now, I don't have so much favourite feeling toward the Kurds.
Syrian rebels, backed by Turkey, are currently taking Aleppo (2nd largest city).
Russian troops have fallen and are consolidating somewhere....
This will be a domino that causes big issues for years to come …

Syrian rebels, backed by Turkey, are currently taking Aleppo (2nd largest city).
Russian troops have fallen and are consolidating somewhere....maybe at the Naval Base or Damascus.....dunno.
Syrian troops are switching sides or running away in droves.
Assad was in Russia yesterday meeting with Putin. Dunno where he is today.
But Russia is losing not only more troops but also a Naval Base.
This will be a domino that causes big issues for years to come
fret not over hebrew poetryIt might be even worse than that. There is a prophesy about the complete destruction of Damascus...I think that ushers in the Apocalypse...or sumpin' like that.
