Syria is important to Russia as this is where Russia has a stop over for its flights to and from Africa and its shenanigans going on down there.

So...Russia loses not only Syria but Africa in one fell swoop.

Then there's the whole problems going on in Ukraine. This is not going as they hope.

Banking issues that even upsets China....

Brazil is NOT amused either and is looking for a leadership change.

BRICS is over. Iran is cut off. Azerbaijan is upset with Armenia...

Albania maybe? But overall, I have to agree with the most written above. Turkey doesn't have allies in Europe or in the Middle East (small and insignificant Azerbaijan, proxies in Syria and Lybia, and maybe Pakistan aren't quite enough for a regional alliance). Turkey is on their own. Besides, its neighbours aren't so keen on them.

But will the US decide to play a Kurdish card to the extent of granting them a separate state? Maybe, don't know. I personally supported their possible state not too long ago. Now, I don't have so much favourite feeling toward the Kurds.

Yeah, and who would that be? Turkey has little to no support in NATO to start with.

Even back in the 80s, I had Greek Naval Academy midshipmen on my ship, and we did an exercise with the Turks and they were not to be told the Greeks were aboard. They were not to even be seen. My best friend was assigned to one of their ships. The sailors slept on straw.

The only reason we tolerate them is because they oppose Russian like we do. When that started to wane, they started digging their own graces, especially opposing Israel.

Now, with Iranian puppet Bashar al-Assad reportedly out of the country, rumors of a coup have followed on the news that Aleppo has fallen to a coalition of rebels:

The sounds of gunfire were heard in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Saturday night as speculation grew that an attempted coup d’etat was under way.

The official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) state television network was off the air Saturday night, and the news outlet’s Arabic and English language websites were unreachable as well.

Explosions and gunfire were heard near the general staff and state media building in the capital.

Local sources said Brigadier General Hassam Louka, chief of the regime’s general security directorate was attempting to oust President Bashar al-Assad, who was out of the country on Saturday.

Then gain access to political seats...from animal control to mayor.

Invite Russian soldiers to help keep the peace

Georgia is not having it. They have never liked or been a willing part of Russian led government. They rebelled often during and before the USSR days. Same as Ukraine did....even in the Donbass region.
