Most white people in TX are Republicans. The Republican state legislature gerrymandered the African American and Hispanic districts in order to gain an advantage, by making sure those districts included a lot more white people.

Republicans in TX are guilty of what you are accusing Democrats of -- race-based gerrymandering.
