I think you need to stop obsessing about race and start focusing on what really causes a white kid from middle America to convert to Islam, a religon of some billion Arabs, Asians and other non-whites 'round the globe, and betray his country, which was founded by white people directly related to him.

It's only an interesting question if you think that the phenomenon is new. Maybe it is a trend which is gathering force, but I haven't seen evidence to that effect. There have always been some who did not feel that they were at home in the US and decided to look elsewhere for a way of life that better represented their experience of the world.

But I do think the difference is philosophical, not just a bunch of white dudes that just happen to feel more comfortable living with people with darker complexions.

It's a racial thing.

We live in a country where white people are taught they're evil. That that they're inauthentic. That they're boring. OF COURSE they're going to think being a Muslim would be cool and multi-culti. Query, friends. Who's teaching those teachings? And why?

I'm not advocating non-tolerance. I'm advocating that these kids are being brainwashed into hateing a way of life. Now i don't like what most middle eastern countries do to their people and I don't like there religious views. But I'm not going to blow myself up or die in a sucide bombing attack to porve my point. Tolereance is one thing. But you can have no tolerance for some one who does not respect human life.

I hope this Anderson kid gets a long sentence. Wearing your country's uniform and then trying to give information to the other side is no better than Benedict Arnold's actions. How anyone could live with himself after doing this is beyond me.
And yes, this kid is being held at the Ft. Lewis jail, which is not three miles from my office. With any luck the other soldiers are showing him some "hospitality."
