So the FCC chair is threatening networks that broadcast unfavorable news

Never heard of it but it looks like France is wanting to take him down. Never heard of the guy or his app. Thanks for the info.

He called news that said 5 US air tankers were struck during a Iranian drone attack "fake news" and threatened the various station's broadcast licenses.

This in spite of the fact the mod edit "tRump" violates the clean start policy Trump himself had already acknowledged this as factual even though he took pains to minimize the damage.

Any of you Trumplings gonna defend their first amendment rights?

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

the FCC chair is threatening networks? Good luck .. see them (the FCC) in Court, where they'll (the FCC) lose

So there was no valid reason for Biden to be pressured by the Democrats to drop out of the presidential race after he already won the nomination?

He should have held to his promise to be a transition president for one term. Biden was running the nation and running for office at the same time. Trump was simply running for office. Biden did that debate after having flown to Asia,, signing deals in India and Viet Nam, and then returning to Washington for the debate. I'm younger than Biden and I can't go go go 18 hours a day any more.

Biden was still more mentally competent and capable than Trump has ever been on his best day. Trump pushed the "Biden is senile" line and is still pushing it, to deflect from just how mentally compromised Trump is.

Currently, Trump isn't doing rallies every week, or leaving the White House much except to go golfing. And when he does rallies, he's a blithering idiot who can't complete a sentence or a thought.

That's why no one is willing to sign any deals with Trump and all of the rest of the world is walking away from the USA. Trump is crazy and senile.

MAGA = Morons Are Governing America.

Will Fox News lose their broadcasting license for airing dec. '25 footage of a hatless Donald overseeing the return of dead servicemen? That seems to have been done on purpose.

Or, was that favorable news?

A lot of words to not answer the question.

If the only problem was Biden's promise to be a transition president, why did the Democrats not force him out as soon as he announced he was running for re-election? Why wait until the people voted and then force him out?

PS: I congratulate you on getting out four sentences about the topic (Biden) before losing control and reverting to Trump, Trump, Trump, TRUUUUUUUUUUUUMP!

Foxnews doesn't have a broadcast license to lose.

If they substituted old footage, they are wrong to do that.

Why is it so impossible to just admit when Democrat-leaning media is wrong?

Lawmakers are not pleased

Mr Carr is completely correct
Report on what actually occurs. True news is not editorializing. News no longer says “USA engaging in military action against Iran.” Instead it editorializes “Trump blunders and stumbles into Iran despite Americans wishes”. That’s not news reporting.
Iran was warned and got smacked. Media is next and it has the option of non stilted reporting of actual events. This isn’t the Biden days of all bark and no bite

I guess because they're cable, they don't broadcast. All of their local affiliates do have them.
Very true.

But Fox Broadcast Affiliates are not under Foxnews. They are both owned by the Fox Corporation.

Now if a Fox Broadcast Affiliate used an old picture to mislead, then that would be something the FCC should look into.

It's all above my paygrade. I put on the news at 5, but I seldom pay attention. Crap is king, we love dirty laundry.

You're an idiot. You have no idea what a broadcast license is. Go away. You're a moron, dogbrain.

"Yes, a broadcast station (radio/TV) can technically be shut down by the FCC for broadcasting lies, but it is rare and legally complex. The FCC prohibits broadcasting false information about a crime or catastrophe that causes substantial, immediate public harm, if the station knows it is false."

News Distortion Policy: The FCC has a policy against "news distortion," but it requires documented evidence of intentional falsification.

It's a grey area. That's one thing I will agree with. But it doesn't apply to Fox News or CNN.

Me also. We don't even turn on our TV except when my mother-in-law visits and that's only because she cannot miss her Murder She Wrote and Matlock. Last time she was here, I showed her how to watch on streaming. She resisted, just wanting to watch it on broadcast once per day each.

But once she experienced binge watching, she loved it. So I had to listen to the TV on constantly, but at least I didn't have to sit through as many fights between her and Mrs. Flops.

Anyway, point being, I was going to say that Fox affiliates are not conservative like Foxnews, but I really don't know, because I don't watch.

I cut the cable long ago. My quality OTA antenna in the attic is doing a wonderful job. So, Fox for me is simply channel 4.1, the local affiliate. They seem like any other broadcast station to me, so you're right, they're not that conservative.

MIL binge watching? You've created a monster!

They have no problem with stations broadcasting their lies.

It’s not about “false” reporting. There’s nothing false in the reporting. The real term is “operating in the national interest” which gives them the ability to coerce stations to spread their propaganda because they see doing so as “in the national interest” which they get to define.

Fake stuff from the tRump *administration is not proof of anyting.
"While Democratic lawmakers and experts said Tuesday that the Biden administration effectively facilitated a crackdown on speech it disliked"

Directly from the article you didn't want to read. Lefty loons admitting what the Biden administration was doing. You are nothing but a self-deluded hypocrite.

tRump really ? Are you 5 ?

No, that’s not what the left was saying.

“No official can dictate what Americans can say, think, or believe. The First Amendment constrains the government from interfering with freedom of speech,” Franks said. “[But] the government has the right to prefer certain viewpoints, and it is even allowed to communicate those preferences through persuasion, encouragement, and funding.”

That’s what is in the article you didn’t read.

Wow do you understand what that sentence means ? Self-deluded hypocrisy.

I don't give a **** which side is in control the Government has zero rights to certain view points that violate a Constitutional right.
